    Here is Kecia Ali's "Sexual Ethics & Islam: Feminist Reflections on Qur'an, Hadith and Jurisprudence" (full-text pdf):

    I'm just posting the link here for those of you who want to do a serious scholarly study of Islam as she cites some good sources.

    Apart from that the book is total fluff. She mostly just admits that the traditional Islamic ethos is inapplicable in modern-day contexts.
