  • Any Dutch speaking person around here?
     OP - April 23, 2009, 09:41 PM

    Hi,

Is there by any chance a guy or gal here who can speak Dutch? I would like to create subtitles for a video, but first I need a Dutch transcript and an English translation thereof. I guess nobody can speak Dutch here, but if you know a person who can, please ask if he or she would like to help me.
This is the video I'm talking about, it's a critical satire on the restrictiveness of Turkish (Muslim or whatever) culture where girls are never allowed to date "outsiders", but people don't seem to care when the males hang around with the infidel girls.

I will try to summon a dutch speaker.

My dutch speaking friend says it's too much effort to transcribe.

It shouldn't really take more than half an hour, but thanks for asking him/her anyway.

Dont know Dutch so cant help here , but if you ever need help with Spanish , Italian , Swedish , Irish Gaelic , Chinese ( Mandarin ) or Catalan , I would be happy to help out people from the forum with translations  Afro

According to the polls only 1.6 % of Americans are athiests. So what gives you the right to call the other 80% morons?'

Oha, are you God? Do you actually understand these languages well enough for doing translations?

If so, you could have a look at my YouTube profile. Most of the videos there have subtitles. You could pick the one's you like and find important and just translate them. Smiley

Watched it, extremely funny in a very sad way.

"Ask the slave girl; she will tell you the truth.' So the Apostle called Burayra to ask her. Ali got up and gave her a violent beating first, saying, 'Tell the Apostle the truth.'"

Sorry, Aziz, but I think this video is just cheap eroticism - mainly catering to male - and  Western  - fantasies, (Much like Burton's translation of 1001 Nights when he used poetic license to spice up bits for his Western audience fed on fantasies about the exotic orient.)
