Very Silly Question:Staying with Virgin & Matron, Why the Time Difference?

I found these two hadiths in Sahih Bukhari, they're about how a man should behave if he marries a virgin & a matron one after the other, & it says that if someone has a matron wife & then marries a virgin, he should stay with the virgin for seven days, but if he has a virgin wife & then marries a matron, he should stay with the matron for only three days.

Sahih Bukhari
Volume 7, Book 62, Number 140
Narrator: Anas

The tradition, (of the Prophet) is that if someone marries a virgin and he has already a matron wife (with him), then he should stay with the virgin for seven days; and if someone marries a matron (and he has already a virgin wife with him) then he should stay with her for three days.

Sahih Bukhari
Volume 7, Book 62, Number 141
Narrator: Anas

It is the Prophet's tradition that if someone marries a virgin and he has already a matron wife then he should stay for seven days with her (the virgin) and then by turns; and if someone marries a matron and he has already a virgin wife then he should stay with her (the matron) for three days, and then by turns.

Its not a big deal at all, I know but I'm why this time difference?

Is it because the virgin is supposed to be more attractive, so a man can better satisfy his lust by spending 7 whole days with her, but as a matron is supposedly less attractive, she gets less than half that exclusive time?

Again, I repeat, its a trifle, but an interesting one IMO...

I always felt it was because the virgin was inexperienced and therefore should have more time, although this doesn't make much sense considering the context.

Confusing...

Thats' one plausible explanation, but Muhammad himself gave Aisha little time before he consummated the marriage...

Bukhari 7. 62. 64 Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

Tabari IX:131 "My mother came to me while I was being swung on a swing between two branches and got me down. My nurse took over and wiped my face with some water and started leading me. When I was at the door she stopped so I could catch my breath. I was brought in while Muhammad was sitting on a bed in our house. My mother made me sit on his lap. The other men and women got up and left. The Prophet consummated his marriage with me in my house when I was nine years old."

Another explanation would be Muhammad & men's fondness for virgins, hell even Jannah is supposedly full of 72 virgins for endless fucking, there're no matrons there!

While we were returning from a Ghazwa (Holy Battle) with the Prophet, I started driving my camel fast, as it was a lazy camel A rider came behind me and pricked my camel with a spear he had with him, and then my camel started running as fast as the best camel you may see. Behold! The rider was the Prophet himself. He said, 'What makes you in such a hurry?" I replied, I am newly married " He said, "Did you marry a virgin or a matron? I replied, "A matron." He said, "Why didn't you marry a young girl so that you may play with her and she with you?"

Seven days would give a man more playtime compared to just three!

Its grossly unfair when you consider in one scenario he married the matron first.

Again these things, as well as a lot about Islam, is about memes i.e. breeding & producing more Muslims i.e. the matron is more likely to be less virile and nearer to the menopause when compared to the virgin.

(Blame Islam for its own stereotypical nature, not me.)

I think you are looking for the word "fertile" (as in a tilth). But if you are (not interested in kids or already have enough) and just want a good time, go for the matron (called "cougars" in the US). They'll fuck you every which way but loose.

Your 14 right? maybe you should leave these subjects alone frankly. The hadith should be only read by over 21s, they are dirty.

By the way, your getting things most of us have already read! Fine me that hadith where Mohammed is walking alone and hears a stone drop, and then says that stone was thrown some thing like 300 years ago and now it has reached the pit of hell. LOL and that other hadith about him having the sexual power of 100 men!

I agree the Quran & Hadith should be sold with an 18 certificate only. Look at all the issue it tackles from paedophilia, rape, torture to murder.

Can you imagine what would happen if it gets out into the wrong hands, i.e people who accept it literally as the word of God?

Tut - I don't think you can say Rashna's too young to talk about Mohammed's sex life when he actually married someone half her age ....
Personally I've always thought the reason so many men men like virgins is that their lack of experience means they're less likely to spot any shortcomings...

Yeah that's true, to some extent, but as a 14 year I'd prefer it if she was spending time on her academic studies, maybe she should come back in 8 years time. She is clearly a smart young girl she should not waste that on studying Islamic mythology as it does not have any real application in the real world.

I actually don't mind promiscuity, in any human, prophet or god's incarnation. I don't think its wrong to have many wives\husbands\lovers even homosexual sex or orgies, as long as its restricted to consenting adults.

The "consenting adults" can even mean 14-16 year olds if we're discussing people & incidents centuries or millennia ago, when life expectancy was far lower, but many of Muhammad's marriages don't even meet my very liberal standards.

He married a child less than 7, & consummated the marriage when she was 8 years 9 months, "married" war booties right after killing their husbands & fathers & so on.
