Hitchens is a false prophet and an imposter. It says so in my holy book "The God Delusion". And in hadith 22, narrated 'BBC Hard Talk' Dawkins once said "He who follows false prophets of athiesm, kill him!"

You are astray brother, come back to the straight path Dawkins has set for all of us.

This is why i voted for you as jester of the month. 'God is not great' is the real holy book of atheism and anti-theism and should only be touched once u have performed the obligatory rituals of going thru decontamination then washing yourself for 1 hour.

Are You There Allah? It's Me, BlackDog

Sign me up. I can't do the shahada anymore. There is no use in pretending. There is no convincing evidence of a God. The Quran is a book of the 7th century. And I don't like it's messenger at all. I refuse to follow a man like that. I have been asked to interpret what I read literally to mean something else. I have been asked to be OK with slavery, with child-brides, not accepting any non-believers as friends, to hate homosexuals simply because, to accept a flat earth depiction, to accept a geocentric universe, to accept Adam & Eve fairytale that doesn't prove how we got here, how the world was created, it simply asserts. The reason I have stalled my decision to apostatize has been simply out of fear, fear of burning in eternity. While muslims kill each other and kill others in the name of Islam and by the use of takfir and they do this with no shame and no fear. They await heaven with 72 virgins somewhere up there in sky. Fucking ridiculous.

I am yet to be convinced with the accurate and divine protection of the Quran, and the Sirat that was heavily edited and the Sahih Bukhari hadiths that was compiled some 200 years after Mohamed's death.

What's the point of my religious life? To selflessly pray and obey a god that doesn't exist and allows the rest of humanity die of starvation and natural disasters, who lets people kill in his name. Who allows for infants to be raped? And murdered? Allows children to go missing for 15 years and then being found in some ditch somewhere, their bodies mutilated. Are you telling me their parents didn't pray? I should be a muslim and have faith and simply pray? And marry a muslimah, and have muslim kids, and teach them religion, so they spread it further? What am I supposed to teach them from the Quran? How to beat women? How to keep slaves? How to have sex with what their right hand possesses? How to discriminate everybody who is not a muslim? Teach them the "evils" of "magic"? Of Jinns? Of Satan? Of Angels? Teach them bad science? What good does any of this do?

If I want to teach them free inquiry, if I teach them tolerance for all of humanity, can I do so? Of course I can, but do I need Islam for that? If I teach them to help the poor, do I need Islam for that? If Islam was so good at propagating this why are there so many poor muslims? Where is God? In fact Allah in the Quran says he will reward the rich who do not believe and make them even richer! So that they transgress more? And he will punish them in the afterlife? Is this not more likely the excuse a human gives to the poor for the lame actions of a non-existing god? Instead of giving them a fighting spirit, to not just accept fate but to try overcome fate they are told if you have faith you will be rewarded. After you die. And even worse, this is God's plan, god made you poor, it's not because of socioeconomic reasons you are poor, no you were born poor, but if you become rich, even though you worked for it, then thank Allah, for he has blessed you. Such circular logic, a child could see through it. And as if being rich equates having disbelief! What a simplistic view of faith and belief. Meanwhile children are literally starving to death. But this is Allah's (God's) plan, and he is the All Loving All Merciful.

Nothing really has changed has it? Being 'ex-muslim' is not exactly an identity. You were always a skeptic and a humanist were you not? Thats what led you to ask questions and express morale outrage at Islam to begin with, right? So really, all you have done is officialy accept your reason and humanity.  Smiley

I know you can't be bothered to look, even if you did, it would not exist, because I claimed no such thing! So best not to look.  Cheesy

Oh, and if I don't respond to you or kafirist or anyone else immediately, it isn't because you made some intellectually brilliant post which leaves me stupefied-*deep in thought & struggling to come up with a reply*, as you guys seem to imagine, but because I often have other things to do at the moment, & replying to poor attempts at moral equivalency by dragging out bits & pieces from texts which have absolutely no relevance to a faith which is extremely egalitarian today doesn't exactly merit an immediate response, or attempting to compare millennia old incidents of intolerance to the global scourge which Islam was & the still on going Islamist supremacist & still dangerous Islamic ideology doesn't really cause me to drop everything else to post an urgent reply!  grin12

It reminds me so much to the Ummah.com anti Darwinism posters, who pluck out bits of Darwin's sexist views, expect every feminist Darwinist to disbelieve the theory, & then crow about how egalitarian Islam's attitude to women is & only by turning Muslim can women find true equality!  dance

Add me to the list please.

I consider myself first and foremost irreligious, rationalist, and humanist. As for the atheist vs. agnostic question, I'm inclined to think I'm an atheist.
I am 100% certain in my mind that the religions are not true. It doesn't mean I can logically rule out God or a higher consciousness or that I've any degree of certainty as to whether such kind of entity exists or doesn't exist or what form it's in. But are the Quran, the Bible, the Talmud, are they the word of God as they seen literally? Absolutely not, impossible. It's definitely not true.

Like I said I can't logically rule out God but at the same time I simply cannot imagine that there is one. If I was asked by a surveyor I would respond "no I don't believe in god" and for that reason I am an atheist.

Ok, I got bored so I had a look just for the hell of it. Found this one. Not sure if there are any others as I stopped looking at this point.

I do think a couple of Christians on this forum were probably hoping for converts,(although I don't think speaklow's one of them) and thats' not a crime, as long as its not done through force, fraud or inducements. As for "waging a war against Islam", maybe its hypocritical given that many of the negative stuff in Islamic texts and practices are present in other faiths as well, but as long as the "war" is limited to exchange of dialogue, its not a crime either.

Christianity, perhaps even more than Islam is a proselytizing faith, its does hope to convert the world, and many Christian denominations, like many Islamic denominations believe that to die without being converted is to end up in Hell. So there's really nothing wrong in taking advantage of other people's vulnerability in order to save them from Hellfire and get them to Heaven, is there? At least in the eyes of the followers of those denominations, they're actually doing a good deed 13

As for vulnerability after the loss of a faith, thats' nothing. Many Muslim parents convert non Muslim men as a precondition of marriage to their Muslim daughters, don't they?Thats taking advantage of their romantic vulnerability. Roll Eyes I've seen some fanatic Christian teachers in my school convert a few heathens by plain monetary inducements, thus taking advantage of their economic vulnerability.

Besides, I don't think ex Muslim CEMB members are particularly vulnerable to being converted, most of us are way too knowledgable about the Bible! So we can't be taken in if missionaries preach only the nicest bits. Also we have people like Shaneequa, who'll unintentionally do loads to deconvert us even if we were to fall into some missionaries' trap! Wink

Chill Hassan! Emerald's explored Christianty, debated Sparky and it all came to nothing. And if any ex Muslim wants to revert to Islam or convert to Christianity, its ultimately their choice. Roll Eyes

Ooooh! Thank you for disproving your false assertions Os! Cheesy

This was right at the beginning, less than a couple of weeks after I joined, after I had given a very full introduction, describing my family background etc.

Everything about me was public, right from the beginning.

I never said, "I was an ex Muslim."

By "we" & "us" it meant the members of this forum, which includes a lot of ex Muslims, as well as never been Muslims, with no intention of converting to Christianity!

Interestingly, no one jumped on me claiming that I had called myself an ex Muslim, they knew I didn't, they were busy purging poor speaklow then, for stating things they didn't like. It was only after I too stated some cold, unpleasant facts, that such accusations started, based on nothing-exactly like accusing speaklow of being a missionary, BNP & whatnot.

At worst, that was a poorly constructed sentence, no lying out there or anywhere else on my part!

I have repeated my family religious background ad nausem & never have I said that I was a Muslim once!

Thank you soooo much Os, for looking! Eat your words now!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I admit that the Taj Mahal was equal to man setting foot on the moon, the first steam engine, the first plane, the television, the radio, the internet combined!  Roll Eyes

And to think that such a thing came out of the Indian sub continent-& other beautiful Islamic structures like it came out of Iran, Iraq, Egypt & so on- places which was living in stone age until the Muslims brought agriculture & metallurgy to them!  grin12

Without it we'd all be cavemen! Shah Jahan was indeed an extraordinary genius, structures the Indians built before it-like the Angkor Wat in Cambodia were shit, alhamdullilah he destroyed all newly built & to be built Hindu temples, which would be just as shitty architectures! bunny

Allah bless the Muslim invaders, who settle down in the world's most backward, unsuccessful stuck in Stone Age places like Persia, Mesopotemia, India, Egypt & make them the most advanced places, giving them architecture, although they couldn't arrange two stones together previously!  far away hug

Good enough for CEMB now?  Huh?

Kid, take a lesson in the use of emoticons. This little guy popcorn means I'm winding you up. Now of course the mature response would have been for you to simply say that it was a badly constructed sentence and you had been open about your background, but I knew you'd nut off and thought it would be amusing to watch you do it. Thanks for playing.  Afro

FWIW if this is the only example I'd be perfectly happy to assume it was just bad wording written in a hurry. Indeed that was my assumption, but I'm sure you can see how it would give some people the impression that you were starting to make false claims. Since you are so ready to jump on other people's wording perhaps you should be more careful with your own. Just a thought.
