     OP - June 07, 2009, 03:46 PM

    http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/abudawud/001.sat.html

Sunan Abu Dawud Book 1, Number 0067

    Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri:

I heard that the people asked the Prophet of Allah (peace_be_upon_him): Water is brought for you from the well of Buda'ah. It is a well in which dead dogs, menstrual clothes and excrement of people are thrown. The Messenger of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) replied: Verily water is pure and is not defiled by anything.

The issue here is not hygiene, but rather a lack of scientific understanding of bacteria, viruses, and germs that can be present in water. Excrement is a very common cause of water becoming contaminated with Escherichia coli (E. coli), a bacteria commonly found in the colon that is deadly to humans if ingested. Water contaminated with dead dogs or menstrual fluids can be equally dangerous.

So since Islam is supposed to be a scientific faith & Muhammad's behaviour is sunnah for all Muslims, others will have to drink such water as well?  vomit

At least the infidel will not get sick:
    Quote
    For them garments of fire shall be cut, and there shall be poured over their heads boiling water, whereby whatsoever is in their bellies and their skins shall be melted;

"Ask the slave girl; she will tell you the truth.' So the Apostle called Burayra to ask her. Ali got up and gave her a violent beating first, saying, 'Tell the Apostle the truth.'"

Interesting, so this is one circumstance where the infidel has a distinct advantage over the believer! Wink

In any case, I don't expect Muhammad or the Quran to be scientifically accurate & ahead of its times, germ theory is a pretty modern discovery, but since Islam claims to be a super scientific faith, with its texts containing scientific miracles, it certainly shouldn't display this shocking ignorance of germs!  Insert evil laugh

Interesting, the number of trolls on this section which seems to be open for debate.

I hope you realize some of abu dawood's ahadeeth are considered weak.

Hey,the weak and false hadiths are very easy to catch with the eye.All the ones that makes you angry, and the ones that goes against common sence,or the ones with no mercy, are all false hadiths.

This special hadith, everybody can hear that it is wrong, wrong, wrong.Muslims dont eat dead animals,do you think they drinkwater with dead ones in it,or period blood from womans, they so are so scared of a womans menstruation blood.

This ones even you guys, can hear is  not a true hadith. The muslims would be dead long time ago, drinking "pure" water like this.

Sorry,I meant they dont eat animals dead by themselves, and not water where dead animals are lying. The dog is inhadith considered not to be a clean being,to drink water with dead dogs in,is clearly a false hadith. An one of the riddicules found in those scriptures.

So since a lot of Bukhari makes people angry, or goes against common sense or lacks mercy then by your argument we can conclude that a lot of the Sahih Bukhari are weak ahadith.  grin12

Funnily enough a lot of Islamic scholars are going to disagree with you on that point. What makes you a greater scholar than them?

With the same logic, can I scrap the Quran too? Since there are so many ayats that "make me angry" and that "go against common sense."

Good point. You forgot the "with no mercy" bit though. I could quote a stack of ayats that are lacking in mercy.

You can scrap the Quran,at least the trouble some parts, they belonged to a time we do not belong.Like the christians did with their bibel.

I scrap anything that I have no knowledge about, all that I dont understand with my reason.God tell me in the Quran that he has given me a brain and understanding, and that I shall use it,when it comes to religious thinking.

He say:"Know me,before you worship me"

I dont stand as a defender of any evil thing that happens in the name of God or anyone that use the Quran to justify any killing or evilness Zaephon.

Marleya - if you are picking and choosing the bits you are going to follow i.e. the bits that make sense to you, then what basis do you have to know that it's true in the first place?  What makes you so sure that others have got it so wrong, and you have got it so right?

Before you wonder what my answer is to this question, I am an agnostic so, I accept the possibilty  in light of new evidence that I might be wrong

But I am not more right than you Islame.

It is sad you live so far away Islame,I would love to chat with you.I like your thoughts.

    Tell me about it!

I remember talking with one Muslim from a moderate Muslim organization (I despised moderate Muslim organizations as a Muslim) who argued that music in Islam was halaal. I provided them a Saheeh hadeeth from either Bukhari or Muslim, can't remember which and she goes "Do you realize there are some Muslim/Bukhari hadeeths that are not as authentic as others?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She was correct ofcourse, you could get a hadeeth that is backed up by BOTH Muslim AND Bukhari which would be formidable, but any Saheeh hadeeth is authentic...

She would have used a Muslim/Bukhari hadeeth to argue for one of her other beliefs anyday... whistling2

Actually, I get it now! It would explain why that girl I spoke to thought the Saheeh hadeeth forbidding musical instruments wasn't authentic. It's because music is halaal and therefore the hadeeth is wrong!  grin12

This might sound like I am innocent, but I am not! However, I have never heard of the word Bukake..... Until now that is!!! Had to google it and boy was I for a surprise!! LOL

    Here is what I got:

    * Semen Play Bukkake: Where many men ejaculate on the woman's face, after which she plays with the semen. Also the men may ejaculate on the woman's food and she proceeds to eat the food with the ejaculate.

After reading this, the first thing that came to my mind was Berberella's Date!! I don't know why! Maybe the Food and the Sex? As they have been mentioned zillions of times in that Dating advice thread?

Sorry Berbs I was only joking! LOL
