    Is it me or does anyone else think this film is gonna be bad. Not up to scratch. Borat and Ali G were funny but can he pull this one off?

    Think his TV sketches were better than his movies, but however bad it is, I think it will still be worth watching for the memorable scenes (like Borat's naked romp on the bed with his uncle)

    The Borat movie was great, but the Ali G movie was terrible. I think he learned his lesson from Ali G not to stray too far from the TV format that makes his show funny, even when doing film, which is why Borat was awesome. If Bruno's not as good it will be for one of two reasons-- 1. This character, in my opinion, while funny, was always the weakest of the three or 2. We've seen so much of Cohen's shtick at this point, the new stuff may lose something.

    What I did not like about Borat, was that you could not tell the difference between the faked scenes (people playing dumb) vs the real ones (people being played for dumb).  In fact from what I remember most of the stuff was apparently faked.  Thats why I prefer his TV stuff.

    Agreed.  I'm only going to watch it because I'm a fan of sacha, but I'm not convinced it's going to be good.

    Yeah, the only really funny Bruno bit, in my opinion, is the one where he's interviewing the obnoxious college wrestling team on Spring Break in Daytona Beach, gets them to do mildly homoerotic stuff, then at the end tells them to shout (I'm paraphrasing)-- "YEAAH! Live from Spring Break! In Daytona Beach! Hi to Austria Gay TV...What?!!?", then watching the look of shock and horror wash over their faces, quickly turning to homophobic anger. That was fuckin great.

    I can't find it.   Cry  It was hilarious though, the Aryan Nation guy was delighted with Bruno, visibly preening himself at the experience of bonding with an Austrian anti-Semite till Bruno dropped the bombshell ......     This isn't the austrian nation guy but he is interviewing some skinheads which is hilarious. Especially the second bloke at the busstop.

    Nope. I just find him to be obnoxious. His brand of humor is not in line with mine.
