    I have been wondering about the Shahada, which is the Muslim declaration of belief in the oneness of God and acceptance of Muhammad as his prophet. The declaration reads: Lā ilaha illal-Lāh, Muhammadun rasūlula-Lāh ?There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God" in English.

    The shahada's first few words actually says there is no God!! I know it says there is no god but Allah and all.... But I still like to think of it as a sneaky hidden statement of truth that says there is no God!!! parrot

    Dr Naik thinks it is easier to make dawah for an atheist than a Christian or Hindu or Jew, because the atheist has said the first part of the Shahada, La ilaha.

    If only it were that simple mate.

    Does this mean all the other monotheistic Gods are false?  Its just that I have come across so many new-age muslims that claim they are all the same God?

    They claim that Allah is the Abrahamic God so it is the same god. Even though Allah was worshipped by the Arab pagans as well as some sort of "high God". But the Arab pagans could have been worshiping the Abrahamic God as well as the pagan Gods/Goddesses.

    In my part of the Globe Atheists are immediately killed! In my part of the world, you can be a non-practicing Muslim, that is OK but renouncing Islam is a definite Death sentence! If not by the government, then by the large groups of stupid people that George Carlin had warned us about them!

    I have visited Turkey a few years ago, and became interested in Kamal Ataturk after knowing what he did for turkey, and I wished that more Muslim countries had such a man to lead them to a more westernized society...

    Since early teen years and I am having doubts. It is did not get into my brain and hear all those stupid mullahs and immams just confirmed it to me. They seemed in aworld of their own. Hypnotized and schetzophrenic. I told my self if god truely exists then it is his fault that did not make me believe in him or her or it!!!

    Yes true but he was not as influential as Ataturk was. I liked it when he suggested that workers should ignore the fasting of Ramadan as it greatly affected the olive oil production but everybody in the Arab world rediculed him and called him kafir and that was that.

    Whenever I hear that name my immediate reaction is still of disgust, as bad as if I heard the name Adolf Hitler. I still find it strange how I've been a part of one culture which demonizes this figure into another culture which admires this figure.

    Whereabouts in the country are you from that you pronounce "heck" as "'eck"?
