Heh, if it was me with the mince in the fridge I would be making home made chips and minced kebabs.   But only cos my burgers never taste good.  wacko

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

Bf made them last time, came out fine. Might look online for more interesting recipes.

The other option is to make pasties. Dunno if potatoes and mince will work.

Meh buggers recipes, I'll just make my own. Cant be too hard. I'll wait for bf to get home. Right now I got to do stuff on my dissertation, 'bout time too!

    Dont you live in Newcastle?

No I don't but it's not that far.

How do you know there are decent ones in Manchester

I've been to Manchester many many times. In fact I was there 2 weeks ago. I also spent my '05 summer holiday in Sale, Cheshire and used to take the bus to Picadilly everyday.
I was lucky enough to attend a Man Utd match in Old Trafford. Sir Alex was literally 20 feets away. I could hear what he saying. Not that I understood any of it  Cheesy

you'll have to give me the names and I might go and try them out..

Try this one first "Ali Baba":

It's an Iraqi Restaurant run by Iraqi Kurds. All of their food is lovely but I recommend the Sheesh Lamb Kebab. Also ask if they have any "Liban"=Iraqi yoghurt. Please put in mind that:
1-It's called "Ali Baba" NOT "Kurdistan". Kurdistan is another Iraqi restaurant just around the corner and also run by Kurds but it's very cheap and their food tastes like shit. While Ali Baba is newly-refurbished and has great service.
2-You access it from the main road (Wilmslow Rd.) not from the side road. And it's on the 1st floor so you're gonna have to go upstairs. (I just wanna make sure you don't go to the wrong one)
    3-Contact details: Ali Baba, 100 Wilmslow Road, Manchester, Lancashire M14 5AJ  Tel:0161 248 5588‎

    I have a question:

Is it better to use white wine or red wine when cooking with beef? I guess it depends on the recipe, but I've heard white wine is usually better for chicken, and red for beef.

    Here I use this website:

Biryani is an Indian dish, which travelled to Iraq, then the Iraqis changed a
few things and put their own stamp on it, so to speak.  They make the Biryani with meat and chicken

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

Rendang is good.  Afro I also like the Balinese style of nasi goreng that has an egg on top. Makes a good breakfast.

Oh and I totally love rambutan. I can eat a whole bucket of those.

And no I haven't been to Indonesia, although I did learn the language in school for two years. That was over thirty years ago though so I can hardly remember any of it. At least we can get a wide variety of food in Australia these days.
