The funny thing is, I found fish & chips to be the hardest meal to make to my satisfaction. I have done curries, chinese, thai etc and this seemingly simple dish is the one I found the most difficult.

After the aches & hunger of my marathon tennis session yesterday, woke up this morning starving hungry.  Made an indian omelette, cut in half and put on 2 butttered toasts -  worked wonders.

Made by frying whisked eggs, milk, chilli powder, chillies, fine onions, fresh coriander, salt and sprinkled cheese, followed by a glass of fresh orange juice.

Havent got a photo, but here what it looked like..

The problem with English foods is that their simplicity means they need to be done with precision, whether it be concentrations, temperatures or timings, there is little room for error.

I have a question to our desi members about cake rusk. Is it considered a breakfast or a dessert? is it a Pakistani food or Indian as well?

At any rate, I love that shit. I have it for breakfast, as dessert, or a snack. I dunk it in the tea.

It is very similar to an Iraqi biscuit called "Baqsam"

Cake rusk is nice. Usually taken with tea as breakfast.

I miss baqsam with warm milk, especially during the winter. Good times.

    I had BACON!!!

Well i just had the Angus with Bacon from mcdonalds  Smiley

Bacon does have a pretty unique taste. I did feel tired after so i know it was a rather heavy meal but hell it was worth it.

From your people's experiences where is most tastiest bacon served?

Here's one for the vegetarians! Pesto tagliatelle:

Pesto made from scratch. It's concentrated so I only used 2tbsp in this dish:

    Pesto sauce:

Served up with cherry tomato's, roasted pine nuts and raw spinach with a lemon dressing:

Looks nice.  Although I dont think making fresh pesto is worth the effort considering the quality you can buy in the stores these days..  same applies to thai green paste.  What do you think?

It's quick (10 minute tops!), easy and I now know how to make it! I don't eat pesto much but it does taste more authentic and rich when made fresh. I've yet to try thai green curry so I can't comment on that one.

I'm oven baking them. They've split down the middle for some reason. Hope I don't give myself food poisoning...

I am eating the most amazing pizza ever!! It's got 8 toppings - Peperoni, ground beef, chicken, pineapple, chilli, peppers, sweetcorn and cheese Phwoar

It's so cheap too! And the takeaway place doesn't go easy on the toppings either! I'm so full but I still want more...

Sausages tend to split down the middle, even when you grill them in a pan. Nothing bad.

Had pork and leek sausages with boiled potatoes with their skin on, with just a tiny knob of butter and some dry chilli flakes on them, with two slices of bread.

Four sausages by the way folks.

    So delicious.

Had a chicken breast fillet left over from before. Sliced it into strips, fried it in a touch of olive oil, and made chicken baguette sandwhich with lettuce, mayonaisse, cucumber, and a dash of tabasco sauce. Lip- smackingly delicious and filling. A glass of ice cold fresh orange juice washed it down a treat.
