    cocoa or chocolate?  I use it in chilli con carne, you usually cant taste it but it makes for a richer & deeper flavour

    Compares ASDA, Tesco, Sainsburys' and Ocado (waitrose). So, if you do your regular shop with Tesco and at the end of it you find it is cheaper with ASDA (like for like products wherever possible) then you have the option to switch.     No way. I mean, it's gamey so I can kinda understand why you might say that, but it's not nearly as strong a flavor as liver, and, of course, the texture is completely different.

    Hmm, that's a good idea. What's your recipe for chili con carne? I've experimented a few times with different ingredients, and though all have been good, I haven't perfected it yet.

    sweat onion garlic ginger, add meat with coriander, cumin, chilli, pepper

    then add tomatoes and cocoa powder (good quality pref green & blacks, but not chocolate as it will make it sweet)

    Thanks for the Advice Ferrero, BD you're MEAN for laughing! and Thinkfree, Tongue I will get cooking! Lol I'm just a whiner. Yes I made a soya stirfry  thing and had a chic-pea salad to go with it. It was tasy. So there was food, just not the sort you get instant gratification out of. Like, ready-made for me.  I will grow up. Tonight I will cook something again.


    Currently I am at school and cafeteria food is go gross to put into my body. I haven't touched the stuff in over a year. Those cookies are so tasty...but also make me feel like barfing after. Especially if eaten on an empty stomach.

    My mother made everything.

    In the bowl is what's left of yesterday's dinner which was Tepsi Baytinjan which literally translates to Eggplant Casserole. A popular Iraqi dish. Here is a picture:




    Most people put meatballs in it but my mum sometimes puts chicken thighs or, as in this instance, Kobbe.


    Oh and IsLame, you call that a feast? it is just dinner for 3. A feast in our house is something like this (btw, the top dish in this photo is also Tepsi Baytinjan !!):

    Man I wish we could take the beautiful things from our culture, the warmth, guest hospitality, the food, the women, the family gatherings, sleep-overs etc and take out all the bad shit :( I would have married me an arab girl instantaneously.

    oh my God. that's awesome. my parents and my wife's parents live just 2 minutes away from each other in London - I must confess the main reason why I like coming all the way from Cambridge to visit both sets of parents is because of the FOOOOOOD!!!!!!!

    that picture actually gave me rash in my pants

    PS is it just me or does anyone else on here get a bit of a boner when they're about to eat a really delcious meal or are preparing a great meal??

    Looks good IA, I really like aubergine. Great idea to mix it with meatballs in a dish. Aubergine has quite a meaty texture compared to other vegetables.
