    HaHa yes, thats why i deleted it - I said if James doesnt marry you will skills like that, then someone else will.  Then I read a few posts later, where I realised James deservedly takes half the credit.  

    So the reverse holds true -Ferrero - If you dont marry James soon, I am sure there are plenty of young women willing to snap him from your arm.

    We stayed in Brussels and travelled out to Leuven and Brugge. Had this amazing rabbit done the 'Flemish way'. It was so delicious esp. since it was so cold in winter. We got on fine with English in Brugge and Leuven but people in Brussels it was quite tough but we got by. We're off to France in a month or so.

    fererro... was the rabbit in stew form??   I had  "hunter's stew" a couple of times
    it was soooo good!  And VERY good on a cold day/night Smiley

    Partying in brussels was awesome!!!   We used to go to a club called, "Le Garage"
    and then had amazingly delicious ice cream sundaes at a place called "Drug Operah"
    lol.    Yeah, from brussels and north, flemish is the norm.  Started the double lingo on
    direction signs in brussels (both french and flemish)    I LOVED it there!  And the
    brochettes on roadside stands ... MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!    I went to the market
    on market day in florrenes, once, and saw this GORGEOUS roast beef!  So I bought
    some and ate the slices as i browsed thru the market.  Something didnt taste right,
    and i went back and realized i was eating horse meat   wacko I wasnt squeamish,
    but it kinda took me off guard lol.  I hated ANY city in france.  Geez, they can get
    anal regularly.  But enjoyed some of the countryside, the folks were more down
    to earth.

    I loved holland.. They have a quirky sense of humor that always made me smile and
    laugh.  They were so friendly up there.

    Yeah I kinda found that the French are generally hostile to the English but the Dutch are really friendly.
    The unlived life is not worth examining.

    +1 the Dutch are friendly to everyone.  Although I remmeber asking an Amsterdam taxi driver once, which nationality was the worst.  He sheepishly said it was the British, because they acted liked they owned the place, violent with little respect for anybody.

    I was pretty ashamed, particularly when I saw violence first hand from a random Britisher in the street, who was fighting with a shopkeeper about something or other.  Embarrassed

    lol yeah the rice tasted very nice but I have no idea how they infused so many colors !!

    Really good. This is a newly-opened restaurant. Everybody is talking about it. A bit overpriced but the food tastes great and the food quality and cleanliness are top-notch. I didn't like the chicken bhuna though.

    Not sure how they get the multi coloured rice either.... My best guess would be to cook 3 pots of rice - but green colouring in one and red in another.... leave the other plain...

    When it's all cooked... toss it all together and you've got yourself some rainbow rice Grin

    I can't wait to get back to cooking so I can post my pics here too  dance

    Dunno, I would never do it as its I think its naff.  Although CCpop is prob right, stick a few drops of food colouring while its boiling in water, and then mix 3 different coloured pots together.  Make more sense to do it if you are cooking in bulk.

    When i lived in Calif, there was a tibetan/mongolian
    restaurant.  They had a buffet, and well,
    99 percent of the dishes were lamb  *drools*
    All kinds of stews and such.  Never had seen
    such a restaurant before or since!  

    When you walked in, I swear, it was walking
    into a different world.  The ambiance was so
    exotic, and the aromas that wafted through
    the air, plus the music (which i had never heard
    before--and ive heard alot of music lol) was
    enchanting!

    Would love to try it, never had that food.  Anyone know any good website to find recipes for this kind of food?

    INGREDIENTS
    For the marinade
    2 tbsp rice wine
    1 tbsp light soy sauce
    1 tbsp cornflour
    1 tbsp ginger, finely diced
    3 garlic cloves, finely diced
    ½ tsp sesame oil

    For the beef
    600g (1lb 4oz) good quality beef mince
    1 head chinese cabbage, finely shredded
    2 tsp sea salt
    50ml vegetable oil
    2tbsp rice wine
    2 tbsp hoisin sauce
    1tbsp oyster sauce
    1 tsp malt vinegar
    ½ tsp sesame oil
    1 small carrot, peeled and finely sliced
    1 small red pepper, finely sliced
    1 bunch spring onions, finely sliced

    Quote
    METHOD
    Combine all of the marinade ingredients in a large bowl.
    Add in the beef and leave to marinate in fridge for 30 minutes.
    Put the cabbage and salt into another bowl and mix well to combine.
    Leave to stand for 15 minutes then rinse under cold water and drain.
    Squeeze out any excess liquid with your hands.
    Heat 2 tbsp of the oil in a wok until the surface starts to shimmer slightly.
    Add half of the marinated beef and stir fry for 30 seconds, breaking up any lumps with a wooden spoon.
    Remove from the wok with a slotted spoon and set to one side.
    Add the remaining oil to the wok and cook the remaining beef for 30 seconds before returning the reserved beef to the pan.
    Add in the rice wine, hoisin and oyster sauce, vinegar and sesame oil and cook for a further 30 seconds.
    Toss in the cabbage, carrot and pepper and stir-fry for a further minute.
    Stir through the spring onions, reserving a few for garnish and remove from the heat.

    To serve
    Spoon the beef into a serving bowl, sprinkle with remaining spring onions and serve with rice and sliced chillies.
     

     To serve
    steamed rice
    sliced chillies

    Everytime ive gone to a mongoian restaurant, tho,
    i have been sorely dissappointed cuz its smelled so
    divine , but then didnt taste very good.  dont know if
    you have them there, but in the US they have them
    and you make your own, like a fast food place tho.

    I had mongolian crispy lamb at a restaurant once... don't know if it was authentic but I could have stuffed my entire face with it!!!
