The main thing holding me back is the possibility of letting those who do not know I eat non-Halal + pork to know live on TV. Especially my parents.

I lost the recipe, but used to make a chocolate carrot cake (from scratch),
took 2 days to make LOL.  But once the cake was cooked (in a large rectangle
pan), spread strawberry puree on top (covered it overnight) so it would soak
in the cake.  Then whipped cream with minced strawberries, then let that
cool and set, then cut sliced peaches, put the slices around the edges, then
    sliced strawberries over the rest.

I also had an awesome dessert made with acini de pipi and lost that recipe too
    :(

I think I may have had Ethiopian food before.

They have this marinated meat, that is served either raw, or just barely cooked
which is awesome!  Also, at an Ethopian restaurant, the server will actually grab
up some of the food and literally put it in someone at the table's mouth (with his/
her hand lol).  Their "bread" is interesting too.  Kind of looks like brown pancakes
with lots of holes, a bit rubbery, but very interesting taste.

It's a chocolate carrot cake - but you never mention the chocolate or the carrot?!
And it's got strawberries and peaches instead? Sounds a little gross Grin

    What's acini de pipi ?

  • Re: Food, Food, Glorious Food - what you having for dinner?
     Reply #1726 - August 22, 2010, 03:43 PM

well the choco is cocoa, and the carrots, are... well.. carrots LOL.  Actually can't
taste the carrots, just shred a couple in the cake mix.

Acini de pipi is a type of pasta, like grains of rice, but smaller.  If you like
    tapioca, you would love this!

I like that phrase. Has a nice ring to it. Sounds like a bad word.

i know, huh LOL.  The friend who gave me the recipe was in that whacked out
xian cult, too.. I stifled a laugh every time she said the word LOL  She had
made it for a pot luck once, and I asked her what it was   Cheesy

For a while, Jack in the Box was making mango shakes and they were
sooo good!  Seems the things i like the most wind up off menus.
Baskin Robins used to have a flavor, "Lemon Custard" ice cream.  It
was to die for!  But of course, they stopped making it!  Cry
But thank goodness mint choco chip will NEVER go out of style! LOL
Also like during the holiday time in winter, they have peppermint
    ice cream.  REALLY GOOD!
