Weird. So has there ever been any actual prohibition on showing Mohammed's companions? I thought it was only Mohammed himself.

Devious, treacherous, murderous, neanderthal, sub-human of the West. bunny

Only recently (a few years ago) I heard from Salafi sheikhs that it was Haram to even depict the Sahabas. I can't be buggered to google the fatwa tho. Tongue

I chose to get circumcised at 17, don't tell me I never believed.

I thought that the issue was the fact that they had depicted the prophet - he was far too holy to be depicted into any ordinary film

Depiction as in featured you mean Islame?

Really, they really stepped around the egg shells, there was no voice or body, they would only talk to the camera and make obvious responses ("you want us to go there???") to let the audience know what the prophet was saying.

Akkad really really wanted to please the wahhabofascists, and failed.

"I am ready to make my confession. I ask for no forgiveness father, for I have not sinned. I have only done what I needed to do to survive. I did not ask for the life that I was given, but it was given nonetheless-and with it, I did my best"

They have depicted him as mute in that movie - from what I remember you only see his walking stick whichhe uses to communicate.  I must watch that movie again - it's be interesting watching it again from my current pov.

I would love to make a porn version one day called 'Lawrence of a Labia'. Where mo goes around fucking everyone and banging all his wives in one night, with Ayesha being great and athletic. in bed.

Take the Pakman challenge and convince me there is a God and Mo was not a murdering, power hungry sex maniac.

Cheesy.  Dont forget the ending as per one of Rashna's hadiths, where Mo dies of an extreme orgasm in the midst of Ayesha's breasts.

Actually if one did make such a film it would get banned since Mo fondled Ayesha breasts when she was six. Poor little girl.

That would be child porn if done. Hopefully it should drive the whole issue home with those muslims who try to bring up the cultural relavatism or time and place piffle!

Would you star in a porn if your face could be hidden, don't worry I'm not casting.

To avoid the paedophilic tag, you could call it an 'educational video' demonstrating the dangers of Arab men with long beards professing to have a calling from God

You bet, but only if I could play the lead role as Mo

Did Mo have a six-pack though? They do say that he had a flat stomach when he was on his death bed.

Well perhaps after I'm cast and after all those scenes, I may exchange my fat-pack for a flat-pack

The best thing I remember, given my Shia upbringing, was the Battle of Badr scene when they depicted a silhouette of Ali ibn Abi Talib wielding his fabled sword al-Zulfiqar  dance
