    I made a breakthrough today, I shaved my beard! I am clean shaven for the first time since November 2006!
    Although I am happy that I managed to shave it, I am still very dissapointed in the fact that I didn't say "yeah, I shaved my beard. So what". I made an excuse and said that I shaved it by accident!

    But nevertheless, people were asking me why I shaved and saying things like "your beard looked so nice on you, why did you shave it" and "a beard is a sign of a Muslim" etc. so it did give me at least a small insight into what would happen if I did come out!

    I was a bit silly though. I said I was trimming my beard a number 2, and then I put it on number 0 to neaten the edges, and then I went to give it a final trim, but I forgot to put the number 2 blade on and left the 0 on and I took a big chunk out of it so I had to shave it all off.

    I wish I could have just said "I have shaved because I didn't want my beard anymore".

    How does the wind feel on your face now?

    Btw, a local muslim imam once said during juma that "growing a beard increases sperm count", any truth to this or does this belong in the same category as "masturbating erodes the spinal cord" ?

    Congrats  Afro(you could always change the story into a combination of the 2 i.e. you noticed you had cut it wrong, then you thought you would see what you looked like without the beard, and now you dont mind it)

    We should do a 'funny things that you have heard a mullah say" thread.  In fact dont want to derail this important moment in Aliadiere's kaffir timeline, so i'll do that now..

    Meh. Shaving is overrated. Course if yer an average white bugger it's growing the beard that is seen as rebellious (or was until recently).

    Well done, I'm sure this is a big step for you.

    There seems to be some very big taboo about shaving in the UK muslim community. I remember when I went to my first madrassa (deobandi crazies) any sign of a razor was reported to mufti-sahib and the culprit would be beaten like a boxing bag for doing something haram.

    I feel sorry for Muslims from Oriental or SE Asian backgrounds who just cannot grow a full beard and feel they MUST go around with a few whisps of straggly hair hanging from their jaws.  It looks so disgusting to me! 

    I also feel sorry for the women who are married to men with full beards.  Imagine having to kiss & make love through all that hair! YUCK!

    Couldn't you have just said that the razor was for shaving your balls?

    To be honest with you, I only grew the beard in my final year, because at that point I was trying to be more religious, then I just thought I would fuck it!

    Actually, I don't really like being clean shaven. It doesn't feel right and It doesn't look as good as with a beard!

    And on shaving private parts, I still do, yes, but I am so glad I don't have to shave my armpits anymore! That is so irritating!

    Trust me - the only person that looks good with a beard is Holy Os.  It will look weird at the beginning, thats expected.

    I have a goatee, I've never liked the clean shaven look even when I was a teen. I once grew a huge Stalin tache about three years ago. Used to be fond of the designer stubble in the early nineties. I would have it now but too many grey hair!

    I was watching a movie called The Aryan Couple last night..(amazing movie btw)...and they didn't have a character playing Hitler, it was mostly about Himmler...but I got really confused cos it looked like Hitler.  wacko
