Hide email address not working...

In Profile,Hide email address from public option is not working.A check mark is placed on that box but still email is not hidden,I wonder why...Can anyone explain ?

It's because you are looking at your own account. Bit hard to edit things on your own account if you can't see them.

Actually i thought that may be its because iam looking at my own account..But i remember something.Before someday i saw myself as my email hidden.I dont know how.Anyway,never mind.

Probably when you came to the site and looked around before logging in. If you're logged out you wont see your email.
