Music dates back at least 35,000 years.

Wow there was music back in Plato's days?

    Are you serious? Tongue

Fun fact: the guitar is named after an ancient Greek instrument - the kithara.

"The defendant's proposition, that the requirement of Christians and Jews to pay jizya constitutes a reversal of humanity's efforts to establish a better world, is contrary to the divine verses on the question of jizya"

" The defendant's denunciation of the ownership of slave girls is contrary to all the divine texts"

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

That's interesting I had no thought it went that back.

    Are you serious? Tongue

Well to be honest I'd assume that Plato and others just quarreled over what music was to ever know it.

But yeah I didn't know that about the guitar. Interesting.

Probably the rhythmic aspect of music goes back way further.   You don't need to construct any music instruments for it.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

I think it's likely that some form of "music" is as old as hominids.

"Consider, for example, the Char-Freitag music in "Parsifal" - death music for the most memorable death in the history of the world. Surely no one hearing it for the first time, without previous warning, would guess that it had to do with anything so gruesome as a crucifixion. On the contrary, I have a notion that the average auditor would guess that it was a musical setting for some lamentable fornication between a baritone seven feet in height and a soprano weighing three hundred pounds."
