Take it back!! Take it back now!!! Snap out of it

Don't worry, he's been banned for that comment.

And if you're gonna write stuff like this below, only a day after the episode aired, you really need to put *SPOILER ALERT* above it.

    Quote
    1.  Is Jacobs brother (with no name) really good or bad?
    2.  How does Jacob manage to get off the Island and not his brother?

Didn't know the stuff about Jacob's brother because I still haven't seen last night's episode.

    fuck you

You can still edit your post with "SPOILER ALERT" so no one else makes the mistake I did.

Eh, this last episode was okay, but it didn't knock my socks off or anything. The easiest comparison I could draw to another Lost episode seems like Ab Aeterno, and they did a much better job with the latter. Plus, in typical Lost fashion it frustratingly brought up new questions with the ones it answered. I still have confidence they'll be resolved before it's all over, however (at least the biggest questions will be).

    fuck you

Oh, not at all. Because that spoiler was given right up front of the episode, it wasn't a big deal.

    Asshole.

I hope the writers know what they're doing, it seems like they're making it up as they go along.

    Hi!

Hope we get to read an introduction post from you soon Smiley

Hey BlackDog, introduction post done! (thanks for your weloming post)

Well, I watched the latest episode ("Across the Sea") and must say on first-watch I was unfortunately quite severely disappointed. I'm not sure we can post spoilers here (?) as I guess the epi hasn't aired in the UK, but I must say this was the first episode which made me question the direction of the show. Don't get me wrong as I said, I love the show, love the characters, but I really dislike the answers the writers are giving us this season, or at least the way in which these answers are being presented (Michael explaining the Whispers a few episodes ago comes to mind), but particularly in ATS. I read somewhere that the the last episode was an attempt by the writers to explain their relationship with the fans, and on rewatching it I can definitely see those parallels.

I guess the only way to be satisfied is to focus on the characters, 3.5 hours to go, let's just hope they can resolve everything in time!

I share Eliphaz's sentiments. The writers have made the show so complex that it just refuses to make any coherent sense since Season 4. It gets weirder, and more confusing with VERY inadequate answers that make the complexities even more complex lol.

But hey, I love this series and I hope the finale satisfies the answers we want.

    *Finale spoilers alert!*

Well, I watched the finale at 5am on SkyOne.  grin12

All I can say is I loved every minute of it and am just really pleased with the way it was handled.  My knee-jerk reaction at the end was, "Is that it?" but then, once I allowed it to all digest and sink in, I realised that it was really best way they could have ended things. As I mentioned above, I was becoming a bit agitated with the way they were handling the answers to mysteries this season, so I am glad they decided to leave the bigger mysteries (Numbers, etc) unresolved.

They went for emotional impact and character resolution over answers, and I whilst there is an essence of "copping out", I forgive the writers for it, because this was, quite simply a beautiful ending. I feel it really brought home the theme of "letting go", which I guess it the hardest thing for all of us to do, whether we are leaving Islam or just dealing with everyday life. I am surprised the quasi-religious ending didn't annoy me either! I'm not even ashamed to say the scene between Jack and Christian at the end made me bawl like a baby!   Cry

Great end to the greatest show of all time.

But what about the others? :S What about the pilot, the guy that never dies and the guy that talks to dead people? And how did Sawyer and them get there when they were on the plane too? I don't get it :S

I had no tears left when it was over ROFL cried through out the entire thing, quite embarrassing actually

But I am happy with how it ended, I will always have a fond place for Lost.

The other "timeline" where they never crashed was actually purgatory. They all met there after they died in the original Island timeline. They all created the church as a place to meet so that they could move on to the next stage/insert afterlife here. So that whole thing has nothing to do with the bomb which went off in Season 5, but it is actually a world created by the characters, a world where the Island is no longer influencing their lives.

Frank, Richard, Miles, Sawyer, Kate, Claire et al got off the Island and died many years later. Jack died straight away, whilst Hurley and Ben stayed on the Island to protect the light. When they all eventually die, they cross over to the purgatory world, which is what we saw in the flash-sideways. They needed to remember everything they had been through in order to move on.

    That's pretty much it!

Well, that was a shitty ending to what was a great show until the writers confused themselves.

I can't believe I just wasted close to 2 hours on that crap, that is 2 hours of my life I will never get back.

Huge thumbs down.  Don't care how upsetting it was to watch Jack die, but seriously?  that was the ending?  Lost just lost a fan.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

Nah I didn't cry.  I'm not a huge fan of loved up happy endings, and considering I weep to practically everything, that's saying something about how much I hate the madly deeply in love happy scene. Grin

Fuck you Lost. Fuck you and suck my cock. Suck my fuckin cock while getting anally violated by a donkey with his penis dipped in acid.

Bullshit. I wanted answers. What the fuck was the Island? What the fuck was the light? Where the fuck did Jacob's adoptive mother come from? What the fuck was Charles Widmore's role? And his wife? What the fuck was all the electromagnetic shit?

And those are just the ones off the top of my head after just having watched the episode.

Oh-- and what ever happened with Walt? It's like the writers just gave up on his storyline and explanation altogether.

But what about the others? :S What about the pilot, the guy that never dies and the guy that talks to dead people?

Those are good questions too. And why does Ben stay behind? What does him staying behind actually mean?

    Lost just lost a fan.

I'm sure they ain't upset now it's over-- they milked us suckers for 6 seasons up until the very end.

    fuck you

These writers started fucking up during Season 4, and it continued even worse in Season 5 and by the time Season 6 came it was too late for their heads to give a coherent ending to all the questions asked.

Sure it was an emotional ending, but for fuck sake, even that did not make sense!

i don't really watch Lost although i might think about getting the DVDs to watch. but i watched the repeat of the final episode last night - what was up with all the religous stuff and that multi-religous-room that the coffin of Jack's dad was in, lol. it looks like there were some very strong relationships between some of the characters - i like that sorta stuff - kinda regret not sticking with it after the first series.

Sickly sweet ending I thought, I don't like that. And it was getting increasingly obvious throughout the season that the writers didn't actually have answers. Still, it was fun to watch.

FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU LOST.  The ending scene was great, but this whole last season with the exception of a few episodes has been one been glaring black hole.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

Reminds me so much of the Quran.

When you start hearing about it, you trust it implicitly, when you start asking questions you know they will be answered soon.  But the questions are still not answered.  You assume if you keep reading/watching, then all will make sense in the end.

There comes a point when you start to wonder if your initial assumption that the answers would come soon which was based on no evidence was actually correct, and whether it will ever make sense.

I became an infidel in Season 1, you suckers waited tilll the day of Judgement to find out.  By then it was too late , your time had already been wasted  Tongue

    Y'all haters!

Though, valid points. On reflection (and doing a re-watch) I think I let the emotions/adrenaline-of-watching-live-feed at 5am get the better of me.

As a standalone piece of acting/directing, I still feel it was a powerful episode (maybe that's just the apologist inside of me hanging on). As the end to six seasons of mystery-driven plot, it was actually pretty mediocre. I think on reflection I agree that there are now so many inconsistencies there that watching the series again will actually be impossible.
