    Hi Belladonnasix,
How'd you manage to dig up this thread?  Over react
I'd almost fogot it was around. I don't know if this ^ really fits but I've just wanted to use it. Kind of a cute little guy don't you think?

Oh well, I better trudge back up to the tower, chain myself back to the wall and ponder over the books, scrolls and manuscripts. Sooner or later a clear solution to problem will become appearent.  If it becomes common knowledge I'm out playing games no telling what the talk will become.

Well... Maybe I wont trudge, perhaps I'll dance... dance

Damn it I know that guy with the whip would show up.  040

    Humm... So it is.
I had forgotten all the things that were on this thread.
Right now I'm spending alot of time with another topic. Hell or well actually the lack of a burning hell from my point of view.

I had forgotten that I was watching this thread because there has been no activity for a year.

Oh well, so many things and just not enough time for all of them. Don't try to catch up it can never be done.

If at first you succeed...try something harder.

That's an awesome video Hassan!  Wish I could show it to my mother

I was just about to say the same thing.

Thanks Hassan. And I wish I could show it to my parents also, or anyone in my family really...  Cry

Rather be forgotten than remembered for giving in.

An excellent video there, Hassan, thank you very for linking it. I like the presenter’s clear, logical and unflashy voice and technique. I also enjoyed the bits of humour laced throughout.

    Undeniable.

    Nice video.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Thanks Ex Muslim, this video is awesome! I stop discussing any such topic when people start quoting from Quran and other so called scripture to prove their point !!!

Even if for a second, I believe there was a conscious mind out there or a god, I can very very quickly rule out the humanlike, envious, vile and petty god that I was introduced to in childhood and in fact all the known gods of this tiny planet. They are all too miserable themselves to have created anything. They ask us to go and kill in their name, spread their name for them.....O come on Mr God, do it yourself Wink

I wish, sometimes I so desperately wish that there was a God, he/she/ it would have been so kind to his creation. I would have prayed and thanked him/her/it all night for everything, not because of any fear or greed but from the depths of my heart! But it is not true, we have to face the reality of this otherwise cold world ourselves and make it warm with our own love!

Every true faith is infallible. It performs what the believing person hopes to find in it. But it does not offer the least support for the establishing of an objective truth. If you want to achieve peace of mind and happiness, have faith. If you want to be a disciple of truth, then search - Neitchze

I would argue and ask the fools who write/talk against atheism and put under the umbrella   of atrocities committed during some communist regimes such as  " Hitler/Stalin/Moa/Pol Potisms" to read the book of Frans de Waal on The Bonobo and the Atheist: In Search of Humanism Among the Primates

and..and ask the fools to watch this full 51 mts of tube ..

Stalin was also a straight male, who was anti-Hitler and didn't believe in Santa.

Therefore being a straight, anti Nazi male, who doesn't believe in Santa, leads you to commit genocide just like Stalin did.

Yeah, see, must have been the vegetarianism wot dun it.  Those militant veggies, leads to veganism extremism and genocide.

    Therefore eating meat prevents genocide.

    (^ more theistic reasoning^)

I find the argument that we can only believe what is scientifically provable rather limiting.   I believe I dream.  I believe I love my family.
I know I'm thinking about a particular person - science will never tell me any of those and countless other things.  I am not anti science,
but I am anti scientism.   Recommend Rupert Sheldrake's book refuting scientism .. in the US its title is Science Set Free, but I think the title
in the UK edition is different.

The narrow proposition that we can only operate out of scientific understanding leaves the vast majority of mankind stranded,  Most of
us are not scientists - but we look for values to guide our life.  Science has nothing to say about values - it invented penicillin as well as the atom bomb.
Science needs some source of values to guide it.

The video would eradicate a precious English word:  faith.  Faith in things unseen, faith in all things.  Have we become so ignorant that we
deny ourselves access to the divine, simply not to be ridiculed?

Another way of looking at understandings without scientific proof is evident within science itself.  Fred Hoyle, the declared atheist astronomer royal in the 1960s said that once he accepted the big bang theory it posed a serious challenge to his atheism.   Why .. because he said the big bang was like a tornado ploughing through a junk yard ... leaving in its wake ... a Boeing 747!   Atheist scientists, understanding his problem ... then posited the unlimited universes theory.  If there are unlimited universes the remarkable calibrations and outcome of our world is less remarkable.   But there's not proof of there being multiple universes.

Likewise people of faith are thankfully, for the time being free to guide their lives by the lamps of their belief in the existence of a loving God.
