Mixing of lineages in islam..

Islam fears mixing of lineages so much that they would give the divorced awaiting period of 3 months , and the widow 4 months and they banned adopting a child and giving them ur family name .In my Attempt to have a sort of respect for islam, i was thinking well, they are right about something here , the waiting period is to be sure the divorced or widowed woman wont be hiding a child and name him after her new husband (considering that they didnot have DNA test at their times)..
BUT then i remembered SLAVE GIRLS! they dont get to have a waiting time if they were Married to a non muslim!
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, concerning the prisoners of Awtaas: ?Do not have intercourse with a pregnant woman until she gives birth, or with one who is not pregnant until she has menstruated once.? Narrated by Abu Dawood, 2157. This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Irwa? al-Ghaleel, 187.

so where is the wisdom behind the waiting period finmad

correct me if i got it all wrong please.
