  • new study about near-death experiences
     OP - October 06, 2009, 10:55 PM

    Quote
Moments before death, the patients experienced a burst in brain wave activity, with the spikes occurring at the same time before death and at comparable intensity and duration.

I think this explain why, religious or not, people who have near-death experiences aren't afraid of death.

Your brain gets dumped with all the opiates and DMT it has stored.

so death is the biggest kick one ever gets?!

nice... at least you leave high like a bird!

I never had a near death expirience. But im not afraid of death... its just pisses me off.
Its sad that im not here to witness all the wonders that will be discovered after im gone.
I would love to live some hundred years to witness the course of history my species takes.

Im still hoping for cryogen technique to be good enough to freeze me until my brain can be cept alive in a robot body for eternety!

well as soon as they have developed molecular nanotechnology [sufficiently, that is] cryogenically frozen corpses can be woken up

Is that the reason why people asphyxi-wank?

I am not afraid of dying, I just don't want to be there when it happens.

its purely erotic, like danger wanking, or screwing your neighbour's daughter. that said it may be a driven thing that refers to the hidden desire for death.

Rest in Peace Carradine, you will be missed.

Beats me why they do it. I've always thought it must result in one hell of a headache. Damned if I'm trying it to find out though.  Cheesy

Interesting article in the OP though. All your neurons going off at once would certainly have some sort of effect on what was left of your consciousness at the time.
