Hey. I am new to the forums. I am not sure if I can become an ex muslim. The evidence against islam seem to be overwhelming, but I don't know how one can leave their religion. Is it as simple as just not practicing it anymore, and not attending religious institutions? It sounds hard leaving your religion, and I would like some advice on how one does it. After leaving religion I feel a hole in my heart.
Hi there and welcome to the forum. It's nearly been a year for me since I consciously left Islam. Although I struggled for a very long time.
Once you stop believing or don't agree with a major tenet of the faith, then you have apostated, whether that is verbally or internally.
The hole in the heart is the initial issue, we have all had it and have overcome it. Some take longer than others. But once you are over it, you will be glad you have done so.
