     OP - October 21, 2009, 12:06 PM

I'm sure you guys have probably heard of him and talked about his "ideas" before, but it's just something I find confusing. This guy believes that evolution is a conspiracy and many muslims believe in this crap! It's the most annoying thing to read and just makes me want scream. I had a debate about science with my Muslim freinds husband and he just gave me the link and told me to read it and I'll see the truth...

He is a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. He does not have any scientific background. He has a degree in interior design. Yet he has so much authority and credibility because what he is doing helps further the Islamic cause. Even if it is furthered through bullshit and ignorance.

Is that true?  It doesn't surprise me but is this verified?

But village idiots like him do so much damage that any sane person wouldn't want to be associated with him.

I have to admit, I laughed when I read "he has a degree in interior design" Smiley

He's been diagnosed with Schitzophrenia? Where diod you get the information? Just asking incase I get someone else using his bullshit to try and enlighten me...

The fact he has a degree in interior design just makes matters worse! Many smart people in the west believe his crap, and haven't even checked his credentials =oS

Who do you trust to design the interior of your shithouse then? You probably redecorate it yourself anyways. I will propose you probably redecorate once in the morning and once before you goto sleep.

Just read it. What a disgusting person. Just think, if this chap could have had so much influence in this day and age, it would have been much easier back then to wield even more influence.

I'm not surprised that he has so much influence though when one looks at society and what is and isn't valued. Just look online at how desperate some Muslims are to prove their 'faith' that they'll embrace such crap.

Truth be known, my parents first house after coming back from Australia had a chandelier in the dunny which matched the one in the bathroom.

    This excerpt says it all:

    Quote
After 20 minutes of sound checks, Adnan Oktar made his grand entrance. He's a burly man with slicked-back hair and a carefully trimmed beard, and he wore his trademark white suit with a black T-shirt. Oktar was gracious throughout our hourlong interview, but the weirdness of the evening quickly emerged. When I asked how so many evolutionary biologists could be wrong, he replied, "We need to talk about the Masons' role because Masons manage the world through a scientific dictatorship." When I suggested that scientists would be surprised to hear this, he said that's because the Masons' "essential characteristic is that they act secretly and they are invisible."

Reminds me of Zakir Naik; its like watching a car cash in slow motion. In the carnage that unfolds there is a certain beauty that unfold - no unlike a BNP supporter being crushed by a heard of wild elephants.

But with Zakir Naik, the slow motion incredulity for me is observing how Muslims adore him, how they think he preaches such beautiful lessons and truths, I guess it is the same with Yahya. Watch their audiences - rapture in their eyes, its simultaneously frightening, funny, and bizarre.

The Egyptian Muslim man who has been trying to convert me touts stuff from Harun Yahya all the time. I looked him up and then tried to explain to him that Yahya has no credentials at all and no business commenting on evolution, but he keeps telling me that "biased Darwinists" are just misrepresenting him because they don't WANT to believe what they know is true. In other words, he's telling me that I don't accept Harun Yahya's conclusions because I don't want to, not because he's full of shit.

So I sent the New Humanist article on Harun Yahya to Ahmed, the man who has been trying to convert me. He replied with this:
//hi Lauren, sure there will be such untrue claims and lies said about people like Mr.Harun.In fact, i don't know him personally but i welcome any critisim about his writings without trying to hear lies about him//
and he included a link that I only started reading before wanting to headdesk:
