What's the most common personality type then?

The INTP's easily outnumber everybody else. I read somewhere that only 3% of the population is INTP but here we easily outnumber everybody else.

You sure?  On this forum I thought it was INTJ (which kinda makes sense), cant remember what the national average is but I read it on wiki I think when I looked up Myers-Briggs.  Men & women are very different though.

I think I got 100% N when I took it, which doesn't seem right to me either.

My partner is ENTJ. We get along really well, although I have no idea how much of that is down to personality type as opposed to her general level of awesomeness.

    I looked it up a bit. http://www.typelogic.com/infp.html
apparently, my wife (ESFJ) is my anima, which translates to:

"This function gets lived as an individual's purpose in life; their inspiration, ideal, or "cause" that represents a person's highest value.  When operating in this position, the individual is inspired as if by a mythological muse"
We keep saying to each other "You are so amazing. I don't know what you find in me, but I'm glad you did"
Is it thanks to this? Meh, who cares.

Your ENTJ partner is apparently a Pedagogue type.
it says: "each is both the other's mentor and student: has a "parent to child" feel"

While I'm not keen on such cut and dry personality tests, it has been fun. Tongue

I took the test again and got the same result: infp
I still have my reservations about the importance of such a test - too many questions were impossible to answer with a simple yes or no.

Can you guys see how FPs here complain about the test (how can a personality by judged by facts & figures  icon_blahblah) & are pantheist/spiritual types

Whereas the TJs dont & tend to be more atheist.

Can you at least see that the test shows this?  Its interesting because it shows why we disagree (as we are using different methodologies) but also might show that no matter how much we argue, we will never agree.

    What do you think?

Yes, I agree that there is some merit to the exercise - I was just wondering whether its relevant on a far broader scale. Of course there do exist general differences between personalities, however, i would like to understand the specific purpose of each and every question and how it relates to one's personality before I will be convinced that it is a definitive statement of personality.

Yes, I agree that there is some merit to the exercise - I was just wondering whether its relevant on a far broader scale.

I think its dangerous, because it does almost assume that we all fit into boxes.  However its useful in understanding why some people will never see eye to eye, as they are not looking at the same material & facts with the same eyes.

Like I said, the test does more than that.  it highlights the fact that we use different methodologies to assess a situation.

You can if you have the time.  I found when I read the questions, I could see what they were getting at & how that could extropolate, when considered with my other answers, into a personality type.

the test doesn't work for some people. for some it gives amazingly accurate predictions.

Not come across some people, in fact anybody here, who has said the test does not work at all?
