Can you guys see how FPs here complain about the test (how can a personality by judged by facts & figures  icon_blahblah) & are pantheist/spiritual types

Whereas the TJs dont & tend to be more atheist.

Can you at least see that the test shows this?  Its interesting because it shows why we disagree (as we are using different methodologies) but also might show that no matter how much we argue, we will never agree.

    What do you think?

I come out as a strongly pronounced INFP yet have little to no interest in spirituality, pantheism or alternative medicine.

Well INTP perfectly describes me. Some questions weren't an easy yes or no for me and I think the percentages are probably inaccurate, but on the whole it describes my persona perfectly. A socially reclusive, unempathetic cunt Wink

I am not saying all FPs are spiritual, what I am saying is the ones that find themselves ex-muslims and on here are going to be more likely closer to spiritualism that a TJ would be.

Anecdotally at least that is shown here, and it would also make sense to me.

FPs use their feeling & perception side more, something that all religions/spirituality hook into.

On the contrary the TJs Spock like critical thinking & mathematical side is less likely to yield onto any such a thing without any hard evidence.

Can you see how the TJ's generalize?

Oh wait, did I just do it too? lol

I am an FP, and I was harping on about this test long before you, infact what you just said doesn't match up.

FP's are not more religious, being FP counts for shit when it comes to religion.

We've discussed this before, SJ......S......the functions most likely to be drawn to religion.

I'm an INFP, high on all my scores, and I am an atheist.

TJ's can be just as traditionally stuck in the mud and just as likely to be believers, because of the J <<<<<<

Add an S and you may aswell plan for a long life of believing.

Add an N, you get some flex, but I know many many INTJ's on another forum who are hardcore believers.

NF's might be drawn to stupid airy fairy belief systems, but are NOT likely to be religious.

    Unless they are NFJ's.

xNxP is the type most likely to leave religion.

the answers to questions are more important than the results, and if it weren't just a yes, no, but a write-in answer all the better.

justice or mercy? justice is a right that should be extended to everyone, but being merciful is a virtue.
is your desk messy? yes, but my computer desktop is neat, and I like defragging more than I should.
I easily express my feelings, when I want to.
    etc.

In the end, there is some merit to the test, as I've previously admitted but imo, much less than even an IQ test at this concentration & based on this test in question.

Yes, I agree that there is some merit to the exercise - I was just wondering whether its relevant on a far broader scale. Of course there do exist general differences between personalities, however, i would like to understand the specific purpose of each and every question and how it relates to one's personality before I will be convinced that it is a definitive statement of personality.

each question was asked several times
    with different wordings
    which gave them different meanings
    so it makes a difference

Yes, they do try to find patterns to help make sense of things

Not according to the stats for this site last time we checked.

The most popular here was INTJ.  I think you are underestimating the fact that if a J does not appreciate the rules provided by his religion, then that is a strong reason for him leaving it.  That was in fact applied to me as a xxxJ.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I remain.

I was ESFJ a while ago, but I did the test again, and I got ISFJ. To be honest, it seems more accurate. ISFJ is known as "the guardian".

As always I get either INTJ or ISTJ. I think my N/S are split down the middle. Interestingly enough when I am depressed I come out as N and when I am not more often then not it is S.

    INTP.

    Quote
        * The INTP gets "stuck in a rut" and only does those things that are known and comfortable to the INTP.
        * The INTP resists and rejects anything that doesn't support their own experiential understanding of the world. If they perceive that something is not logical, they reject it as unimportant.
        * They reject people who think or live differently than themselves.
        * They may be extremely caustic and insulting to others.
        * They may become isolated from society.
        * They may become overly paranoid about social organizations and institutions trying to control them.
        * They may unknowingly or uncaringly hurt people's feelings.
        * They may be completely unaware of how to express their inner world to others in a meaningful way.
        * They may be completely unaware of the type of communication that is often desireable and (to some degree) expected in an intimate relationship. If they are aware of the kinds of things that are appropriate to say and do to foster emotional bonding, they may be unable to appreciate the value of such actions. They may feel too vulnerable to express themselves in this fashion, and so reject the entire idea.
        * If pushed beyond their comfort level to form commitments or emotional bonds, they may reject a relationship entirely.
        * Under stress, they may show intense emotions that seem disproportionate to the situation.
        * They may not recognize basic social principles, such as appropriate dress and general behavior.
