But Paloma you've got no evidence that he did say it. You've got two blogsters claiming that he said it, but their external links do not back up their claim. Have you any reliable source at all, because this is looking more and more like an urban myth.
True, but as one of the blogster said : "WHY HAS THE MAINSTREAM PRESS SAID NOTHING ABOUT THIS?" If he did say it and it was suppressed, that is worrying dont you think ?
Whether he said it or not, he did put pressure on the authorities to ban Wilders and succeeded in the first instance and that is also worrying or dont you think so ?
Anyway, you accuse Arthur et al of blowing the threat of radical Islam out of proportion, but it seems to me that you are minimizing it and you are focusing on his remarks about Sharia, whereas he has mentionned other worries. I dont know about Britain and Ireland, but in Denmark, in all the major cities we now have no go areas, like the one mentionned in my post
http://www.councilofexmuslims.com/index.php?topic=7155.msg177362#msg177362which has been largely ignored. In a Copenhagen suburb called Tingbjerg, the buses have stopped running at night, the vicarage has been put up for sale and the priest is on sick leave after years of harassment, vicarage windows smashed, vicarage broken into and vandalised, die written in blood on the vicarage door etc. The priest is openly homosexual, whether it is this fact or Christianity that has caused the harassment, who knows.
In Aarhus (2nd largest city in Denmark) dumpsters, cars, schools and nurseries have been put on fire and in an estate largely,as Tingbjerg, populated by immigrants, Greenlanders have been harassed to the point where they have had to move out.
Is it not legitimate to find this worrying ?
As for the Sharia courts in Britain, yes they only effect a tiny minority... now, but is it not better to nip it in the bud ?
With respect to Engerland (is that really what they chant ?) EDL may be overly nationalistic, I dont know enough about it to judge, but what is wrong with feeling a great attachment to and love for the place you were born and raised ? Why must it be sneered at and mocked ? It is as if the mere mention of England and English brings on this reaction from some of the posters here.
