Nice little pdf article for Salman Hameed, a muslim scientist who seems to be a "tad" liberal with his quranic interpretations.

Salman Hameed is as far as I know not muslim, at least no more than Pervez Hoodhboy is. I quite sure remembering him stating that he's an agnostic. If you read more of his blog you will notice that he frequently cites Dawkins, P.Z. Myer's among others in a positive way. He writes mainly on the intellectual debate between religion and science, and mostly on the relationship between Islam and science, which you would also learn from his blog.

tbh many Muslims I know don't believe in Creationism as believed by Christian Creationists (i.e. in the earth is only 6000 years old etc...) Many Muslims I know accept evolution, though with the some modification to allow for humans to be created as a distinct and separate creation rather than them evolving from lower forms.

Most muslims allow for evolution, with the exception of the lineage of Adam and Eve. They also don't fall into the trap of the young earth creationists and accept that the earth and universe is eons old. I think the moment muslims entertain any idea of mankind evolving from sightless bacteria, it overthrows the idea of Adam and Eve being created with God's own hands. I think the denial of the creation Adam and Eve is violating an important principle in the Islamic Aqeedah.

Most Muslims I know either reject evolution all together or some say they accept micro but not macro evolution  Huh?

i totally agree with hassan most muslims agree on evolution but say humans are from adam that was made by allah  ... so most muslims would say animals evolve but not humans ... when i am confronted by such thing from a muslim . i start mentioning homo habilis and stuff ofcourse they deny saying these are apes .... then i mention neanderthals whom DNA is completely different from us homosapians yet made complex tools ... for which i get an answer like " its fake or its a conspiracy or they will discover its wrong or i didnt know about that or the best ( if u go on saying things like that u are going to hell)"

Can find the video that was once posted on COEM of a how the chromosomes fused together from apes, it was powerful evidence for our evolution from apes.

On it we could see the telomeres fused at the same point, along with the same data just joined together- anyone know where its gone or saved it in their favourites.

Here's another bit of evidence showing how vitamin C synthesis junk DNA still exists in our chromosomes from our ancestors..
