Pat is a funny dude, it seems though a lot of people don't understand his use of subtle humour, although his face does seem depressing to look at.

As for aggressive atheism, it is compulsory when you got religious bigots trying to tear down the very fabric of secular democracy by exploiting the rights such countries give them by law.

    Exactly!  Afro

This is exactly why I support evangelical atheists like Dawkins and Harris. If religion and god was kept in the privacy of ones homes there would be no need for strident atheism. But in a world afflicted by dogma we need our atheist crusaders to defend reason.

Iblis has mad debaterin' skillz. Best not step up unless you're prepared to recieve da pain.

Sure, but again, what is Atheism to be evangelized? Is it a set of rules, codes, moral conducts (a.k.a another religion minus a belief in a deity like Buddhism)?

People here really needs to understand that when you say "I want more evangelical atheists to declare atheism!!" you're no different than a religious bigot. You're actually diminishing the true definition of Atheism. It actually doesn't make any fucking sense when people want to be evangelical atheists.

Atheism need NOT be evangelized just like how your disbelief in Santa Claus need NOT be evangelized. In regards to religious bigotry we need to stand up against it to try and tone the bigots down, but by no means does this require anyone to be an Atheist/Agnostic first.

The better statement really is: Secularism (as in the separation of church/mosque and state) needs to be "evangelized."

Not Atheism. Atheism is a personal opinion. Just like how your disbelief in Santa is a personal opinion.

And before anyone else gives the BS argument that Atheism equals Secularism...think again. It doesn't. It equals your personal opinion that you're a disbeliever. Being a Secularist (which is more of a political term than a philosophical one) equals Secularism.

To summarize, just like how we don't want religion to be "evangelized" to us, others need not have "Atheism" shoved down their throat. It only creates more tension.

The best thing is to strive toward a common goal--Secularism. There are MANY liberal Muslims and Christians who would want nothing more than the separation of Church/Mosque and State. They understand that personal beliefs are just that--personal. This is why Secularism is so important to be aggressively pushed for.

First of all let me say hello Tommy. Don't think we've met in a discussion before.

Ye i get what you mean, one can be an atheist for different reasons. You can be an atheist and still for example be a nihilist or a stalinist. However I guess I should rephrase what I said, I think we need more audacious secularists who are willing to argue against the pro-religious law people which I see you have now written lol.

I like the fiery tone in your argument.

I think though, most atheists are secularists, not that carries any significance in this matter. But ye I agree with what u said. Secularism all the way, no religious BS laws.

Yep, in the same way that having slow internet for a few hours one day is a problem, compared to dying in infancy because of an eye parasite in a Third World country.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

Never met him before, but he has a point. Afro

Secularism is an ideology to evangelize because of it fundamental principle, which is a separation of church from the state and encourages freedom of religion and beliefs without violating anyone's right,In contrast to Atheism which is simply a rejection of belief in the existence of deities. In sum secularism can be an essential tool for integration.
