    I did go to mosque on saturday for my qoranlessons, but i was too young to really understand.

    Nope!  Not in the least but I've been there twice and used to have a Moroccan friend back in my Muslim days.

    I disagree. Zidane let himself down. There were still lots of minutes left to play in that final and he was having a good game. There was every chance that he could have won the game for France, he carried them to the final.

    Zidane was the most amazing combination of graceful and explosive player. Had he lifted the World Cup for a second time, this time as captain, in his final ever game, it would have been one of the greatest achievments in the history of the game. Why he did what he did is one of those mysteries about human motivation that we'll never fathom.

    Fuckin' genius though, either way.
