And the worse part, even when it is a celebration - they're still fucking miserable! Christ, there is a reason why I eventually ducked out of so many Muslim events I got invited to - to avoid a fucking miserable night of endless pointless chit chatter, whining and whinging about the world.

I have no idea what you're talking about.
I have been to many Muslim weddings and I really had a nice time. All the chicks were belly dancing like crazy  grin12 even the Hijabi ones took it off and started shaking that ass yes.. Not to mention the amazing food. Oh and I witnessed the belly dancing part in Iraqi, Syrian, and Jordanian weddings.

Maybe having Kaiwai there put a damper on the party.

Devious, treacherous, murderous, neanderthal, sub-human of the West. bunny

The distinct lack of booze is a mood killer for starters. I did the polite thing and went along, smiled, chatted - but that was about it.

As for belly dancing given that I'm not that way inclined, belly dancing wouldn't make up for any of the down sides lol

Then again, I don't like going to functions with lots of people anyway.

Can't argue with that booze is important Wink. I went to this upper-class Jordanian wedding and they served these amazing Pina Coladas and Martinis. That really made the wedding for me  grin12

Because people cherry-pick what suits them from scripture.
Why do most Muslims listen to music? why does Saudi Arabia allow music production and concerts but not cinemas? why do many Muslim women not wear Hijab? why do Muslims open saving accounts and mortgage their houses when it's clearly usury? why do they watch movies with non-Hijabi chicks in them? why do many have GFs/BFs? why do they go out with their GFs/BFs/fiances on dates?

Nobody follows the Quran literally. Most Muslims do not follow the Quran. They do not. They follow whatever set of rules they put into the Quran.

It's not ok at weddings depending on what school of thought you follow.  I knew super strict muslim women who didn't play music at weddings, nor dance, or anything fun.  They just sang quiet religious songs.  We always knew to avoid those wedding invites.  Cheesy

In Morocco it's haram to dance in a shaking head motion, it's this sort of heading rolling motion in which she throws it about wildly, they call it "T'hayaar" (not sure if I'm using the right letters to say the word).  They believe that doing it gives jinn access to possess your body.  They also believe that blowing this horn does the same thing.  Roll Eyes

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

I'd like to make out with a girl possesed by Jinn. I think that would make for some crazy sex.

It's just too bad Jinn dont exist. Oh well, thats what they made Black Metal for.

    "T'hayaar"

Does that word mean 'encouragement' ?

"Modern man's great illusion has been to convince himself that of all that has gone before he represents the zenith of human accomplishment, but can't summon the mental powers to read anything more demanding than emoticons. Fascinating. "
