     OP - December 26, 2009, 04:48 AM

Wow. yeah, So I'm Basically Going To Get To The Point, Save Your Time And Mine, Lol.
    HEllo And Hi.
Name's Hope. I Do Not Go By A Label, Not That of A Christian, Muslim, Or Any Other. Though I Don?t Follow a Particular Religion, I'm Truly Fond of the Subject. Why, Because It?s Absolutely Amusing, Seeing Mankind Believe In Myths And Fairytales Even Today.
ANYtoThehow, I'm very Glad to Have Come across This Forum. It's Good To See People Out Here Making A Stand For What They Believe And Being Accepted For Their Opinions. And Even More Glad To Be A part Of A Community Where "Questioning faith and religion" isn't Frown Upon, but is Rather Seen As A Mean Of Individual and Personal-Growth. Big Respect, To All of You Out Here.  Questioning Faith Takes Courage.
I'm Still In The Process Of Slowly and steadily  Unbrainwashing Myself From The Religious Idiosyncrasies I Grew Up With.
Yes, I Was Raised A Muslim, Until I Began To See Islam In A Different Light. I Had A lot of Fun Reading Reviews And Feed Backs In Some Of The Forum Posts. Hopefully, We?ll Get to Share Views and Reviews and Get to Know Ya'll Better.
    Peace Till.

Good on ya my friend. U care to go into detail of some of your questions with religion and Islam.

For starters, the whole idea of religion is absurd, in my opinion. More so knowing, its used to justify hate and discrimination against specific races/communities/genders, should religion[be it any] not be a unifying device, rather then a weapon of destruction in itself? This god figure, depicted seem pretty okay with people dying of starvation, living in horrible life conditions and is okay with seeing people kill each, in his name?even, more so, my argument is, if this God figured holds life and death in his hands, then a murdered really shouldn't be penalized, right? It was GOD's will after all =|
...now coming to Islam, a religion I kind of know. I won't say I have the text memorized, but ..this God figure knows whether you?re going to heaven or hell, prior to your birth, is he still that bigga an asshole to not guide those who have 'hell' destined to them to begin with. If Only Jews, or Christians or Muslims are going to heaven, then its pointless for the rest of to even try being virtual right? God discriminates and shows favoritism? Only a set number of people are appointed to heaven, what about the rest of us? This god figure gave us a brain and the ability to think and all that good jazz, and is Afraid to have his authority be questioned? Why?
In any case, how is a merciful figure like him okay with people burning for a life time. Personally if I hated someone I still wouldn't damn them to eternal suffering. If gods so kind hearted why does he not just forgive? and then we have this mohammed figure, who is of equal importance as god? not to get me wrong, if Gods the only figure worthy of praising, why is mohammed's name almost always mentioned next to his...I can go on for ever, I'm still trying to be pretty open about the subject. Understanding both sides of the penny, I was a believer and now learning to question it.

I needa a microscope to read that, lol.  I'll try to avoid it , my way of expressing, well, Me. Though i'm well aware its grammatically incorrect and all. Out of habit I might trip here and there and drop a Capital with every word. Will 'try' to avoid it though, for readabilitys sake Smiley

looking forward to reading some of your posts  So tell us where your from, and how you bumped into this iste?  also are you open with anyone about your beliefs, like family, friends etc?

I'm current in North America, and like most American muslims well "GOOD" american muslims, I "tried" being faithful to Islam[Didn't go well]. Over years and months of contemplating where I stood on the subject, I'm FINALLLY learning to be comfortable questioning what I believe, or am suppose to believe. Rather then mindlessly following a scripture, I figured I should learn more about its context.

I came across this site, via a youtube video by 'disscusislam'. What was cool about the video was that it stated, its okay to believe or disbelieve, where as, according to islam Disblieving is out of the question. After having to shove my own thoughts and ideologies down my own throat, trying to convince myself to follow and believe everying the quran states, I came to a realization, that it Really doesn't work like that. There's alot in the book that I don't agree with.
My family isn't crazy religious but they are pretty old traditioned, so I really can't throw where I stand, religion wise, on them. My friends are pretty diverse and accepting, so they are open and cool to new thoughts and ideas.

Welcome, I do have to warn you that you'll get to the point in life where you'll want everyone to shut up about religion so you can sit back and chill with like minded people and not have to worry about the expectations of a man made god. Smiley

Until you get to that stage of enlightenment, welcome and I hope you gain as much as I have from this thought provoking and wise forum. Smiley

We have a tradition for new members. It's called McDeconversion, a term coined by our Eminent Murtad Scholar Kafirist. Basically, what you do is you buy a cheeseburger from McDonald's and film yourself eating it.

Come on I grew up a muslim. I think I can play the Master quite well Wink But, for the sake of womanity I will let you play master, if that's your command Madam (see I'm already getting good at it). I will willingly suffer abuse and torment for the 1400 years of repression you ladies have suffered. Just one request, please, be gentle.

And oh yeah while we're at it can you involve the act of me doing push-ups while you sensuously  stare me in the eyes and eat a hamburger. Don't ask.
