    What do you guys think? What's next? Speed of light? Traveling faster than the speed of light?

    Say in the next 50-70 years.

    First we would have to figure out how to bend, stretch, and shrink space time. Or if they found the key to using Bell's theorem. Which is more 'stargateish', where you create a quantum potential for us to actually be millions of miles from where we actually are and fool quantum mechanics into instantly jumping us there. There are also some other theories that it may be possible to travel faster than light by using magnetic fields to enter a higher-dimensional space

    Light speed has a slight problem: infinite mass. That means you need infinite energy to get there.
    Faster than light has a bigger problem: you need negative rest mass. Try making a spaceship that literally weighs less  than nothing.

    I wonder what was the reaction of the muslim and christian world when the first rocket was launched into space? And there was no heaven? Only space.

    lol I wish I was around that time would have loved to see that panic envelope people as they realize there is nothing there. I wonder where heaven is now? Where the angels are? And the missiles that chase Jinns. Or is my "interpretation" of the Quran and the Hadiths much too literal? Tongue

    Not negative rest mass just basically no intrinsic rest mass - same as photons. The video however was interesting bending space - that sounds like science fiction.

    Nope. Zero rest mass just gives you light speed. For FTL travel you need negative rest mass.

    I think space travel is possible within 50-70 years..

    But traveling at light speed is indefinite (not impossible) at least not in this century  grin12

    This is already possible, but it takes aloooot of computing power. Oh, and it won't facilitate space travel... yet...?
