  • Good horror movie suggestions?
     OP - December 27, 2009, 01:41 PM

Any suggestions for freaky horror movies to watch late at night? I watched 'the changeling' last night and screamed 'FUCKKKKK' at around 4 am and probably woke the neighbors up  whistling2.

I'm not a huge fan of horror movies, unless they're really really good.  grin12

The Ring (the Japanese original Ringu is even scarier)
The Cell (more of a psycho-thriller)
    Cube
Saw 1 and 2 (I didn't care for the rest)
Alien (all of them, yeah they qualify as both horror and scifi Tongue )

Horror doesn't scare me enough to rate it horror lol

Honestly, not much help from me, the scariest film I saw in years was apocolypto, because to me pure horror is being reminded of how savage humanity can be.

I know what you mean.  Cheesy Nothing is scarier than humans at their worst.

The Cell is a good movie for that. Vincent D'onofrio is a scary genius.

Anyone ever saw Event Horizon?  The story was a bit stupid and did not really make any sense but the special effects were good.  I watched when i was 10, couldn't sleep.

I wouldn't label that as a horror movie, it's just a bit gory. Have you seen the entire Cube trilogy? I've seen Cube Zero which just ruined the mystical aspect of the Cube but it was a good movie nonetheless, definitely worth a watch. I've seen a bit of HyperCube too but it wasn't very good.

I don't really get scared of horror anymore lol. When I was religious movies that consisted of themes such as demons and witchcraft freaked me out. No more of that shit. Exorcist when I saw it for the first time was disturbing. Hostel and hostel part 2 are also quite freaky.

I've only seen Cube 1 and 2, didn't like Hypercube and so didn't watch #3. I liked the first one as it was very Twilight Zone-ish.

Alll you guys saying you don't get scared of horror movies need to watch the others, the changeling, the grudge, etc. Its not that i'm scared of ghosts, but its the way they present it, like when you're least expecting it and suddenly see this ghost woman pop out of somewhere with LOUD music, it can make you go FUCKKKKK'  cool2

Anyone watched The Hangover?  My brother recommended it to me yesterday, and my other brother said it was my type of movie.  IMDB give it 8/10.

    Anyone else recommend it?

If you want to be really scared, watch "Signs". It has a crappy storyline full of irrational story holes and a pro-God message, but the atmosphere it creates makes you really shit your pants, especially in the second half.

Oh, and I have watched "Diary of the Dead" a few days ago. That was also quite scary.

Ye it is quite funny but I don't know if you would like it. It's got a cameo by Mike tyson though so that part should be funny.
