    I wish my wedding was as funny as this one! What is your plan for your wedding? Traditional? Or exentric?

    Dunno if I'm having a wedding. I'm not bothered really. If I ever have too much money I might consider it. I will definitely think about doing it different from traditional ones. No sexist elements either.

    Are you going to wear a sari and cry? That's what bengali/desi weddings are like, the girl always pretends like she's crying. Its almost like a funeral.

    Fuck no! I'm gunna be happy, my bf means everything to me. No way am I turning that into a funeral! I'm not having a traditional wedding, the ones my family have are ridiculously boring. My parents most likely aren't going to give me their blessing if my bf and I ever marry anyway. I don't know if they'll even be talking to me when I come out as a kafir again. I'm not sure what my future holds for me atm. Guess we'll see.

    I always wanted my wedding in a nice garden but Britains weather sucks too much for that. Dunno if I'd wear a white wedding dress or a sari, some sari's are really pretty! The wedding will end up being more British like though.

    Western weddings are pretty bland and boring. Hindus and Sikhs know how to pimp out a desi wedding, the modern ones are pretty good.

    Never been to a modern one. May have to do a mix between the two. I'll definitely want it to be fun. That's if I even have a wedding.

    Most desis do in fact do a mix. A sikh buddy of mine married a white chick 3 years ago and it was a fun, they kinda mixed it up the main wedding had a strong desi theme, but there was a smaller separate western style reception on a separate day. The main desi style wedding however was pretty pimp and energetic, no typical sad desi shit. It was funny to see the sikh grandmas actually getting down to some Ludacris tracks.  dance

    My Indian mate got married a couple of summers back in London and I swear it was the most fun I ever had at a wedding. My buddy is Sikh and his missus is Hindu. There must have been around 600 people there - it was more like a carnival than a wedding. Everyone was so friendly and happy. Mashallah, they caned so much booze, Sikhs really enjoy their drinks. Beer on tap, bottles of single malt whisky and Bacardi. Funky bhangra and bollywood music playing, non stop dancing, loads of colour and life. Kebabs and curry for dining. One thing I loved was how children were so much part of everything, dancing and running all over the place, at English weddings everything is so much more formal.

    I always thought that if I got married I would do so really low key, just me, my partner and a few friends and close family at a registry office. I always thought that would be very intimate and that intimacy would magnify the special moment. I can see the appeal of a large wedding though. You only have a few moments like that in your life, don't you?

    Yeah, the Hindus and Sikhs out in the UK are probably crazier than here too. It only gets shitty when you add Muslamics to the mix. Sikh weddings for the younger generation are fucking sweet, booze, music, mixed with the rich cultural themes - its fucking pimp. It is basically like a festival.

    I personally will probably just go to the local marriage registry office and just get a piece of paper signed and that's my wedding. I'm romantic like that.  cool2

    I was dating a really unpresentable redneck girl for the last few months. In fact she lived with me. She was such a skank, that I knew there is no way on earth I was going to bring her to my parents.. let alone a wedding. How on earth the thought of marrying her crossed my mind is still a mystery.

    A girl I knew from university met a guy and actually did the Las Vegas Elvis wedding! The guy she was with was a real dick, too, he was a mature student, almost thirty, designer stubble type, cocaine snorting twat. At the end of her second year at uni she just told her family she was going to Florida with some university friends, but really she flew to Vegas with her fella and did the Elvis marriage, stupid cow. Divorced the prick when she was 23, bad idea all round. She said the worst thing was that her parents missed out on her wedding day because of that, she felt bad.

    Make sure you don't play Anaal Nathrakh because I swear that I'll come and gatecrash your ceremony.  I want to be the first cunt to play them during a wedding.  The thing is that I'm quite unsure myself about whether I'll ever have one.  Its becoming a ridiculous money wasting sham.  If I ever tie the knot with someone, it would be after I have lived with her for a while, and probably even have had kids.

    Ugh, I always hated how depressing weddings I attened were (very few weddings I went to), the girls were always 'shy' and crying their eyes out. When I was a kid I thought wow, it's like getting married is a bad thing...and no doubt it is for some as it means going to be a slave to your in-laws. Western weddings in comparision was something I looked to, where you have a happy couple at the end, plus I don't like how in desi weddings it's like the whole family is in the marriage, if that makes sense, how you have the girl just sit their like a vegetable and it's everyone who's having fun. If you can even say desi (I can only speak for bangladeshi's) have fun...given the muslim background.

    I'm not really fussed on the wedding, I used to be, but I realised as long as i'm with the man I love it doesn't matter what the wedding is like, a simple one would be nice.
