  • Imaginary God?
     OP - January 01, 2010, 11:46 PM

    Hi folks,

Did you have an Imaginary God?

Stupid question you may say because all God's are imaginary :-)

No, I am saying that you took God talk from everyone else when you were young and made your own Imaginary Version of that God?

I made my own versions of both god and Islam, imagine my surprise when I found out the truth!

I think it is something that we all do it seems. We make our own version of a God. Either to remove God from criticisms, to make this God more understandable so that we can preserve our faith in God.

I imagined a local community elder who had a wonderful white beard as God. On another note, leaving Islam was akin to losing an imaginary friend. I used to have long elaborate conversations with God but have since realised that I was merely speaking to myself.

Take the Pakman challenge and convince me there is a God and Mo was not a murdering, power hungry sex maniac.

I imagine God was just like the 'force' in star wars. That is more to do with me being an epic star wars nerd than anything else though.

Iblis has mad debaterin' skillz. Best not step up unless you're prepared to recieve da pain.

Never had any imagination of god. I always stuck to the principle that anything I imagined to be him was not.

the question is not that you had an Imaginary "Image" of him in your mind. It's or more to do with the Idea itself.
