Yeah he def. has a lot of words of wisdom. It's very refreshing from watching "Islam is evil" crap that's flooding youtube--especially since Hassan has taken a break from making his vids.

You can seem him coming to grips with the journey he is making throughout his videos. It never easy to set down in front of a camera his rejection of Islam and all that he believed in for all of his life.

I love the fact that he left his Islam apologetic videos, being honest with himself.   Wink

Assuming there is a single monolithic Islam. My criticisms are focused on Islamic orthodoxy and the interpretations that exist today which are not compatible with modern values such as human rights.

Calling something evil, reminds me of what Reza Aslan said regarding the use of language; evil is a load word that moves the debate to that of being a cosmic battle which can never be won. I guess alot of it comes form the evangelical community and the lexicon is then picked up by the wider critics of Islam (of which I'm sure I'm guilty of using such languages on occasions).

Allow me to explain what I meant by my comment. I'm not criticizing your videos--I actually like your videos. I too criticize the orthodoxy of Islam in my videos. But, my "Islam is evil" I meant the videos that do nothing but call Islam and Muslims vulgar and derogatory names and phrases whilst putting absolutely nothing of intellect on the table. Those I see more often than actual quality.

I agree with you Smiley I should have made a small disclaimer that my post was directed at you personally Smiley

Hopefully when I have some time I'll make some more constructive videos regarding Islam - specifically reformist approaches to Islam.

AmdanAbla99 By the way - just as a last hint! Taqiyaa is allowed when u r held a gun in ur head and asked whether u r a Muslim and - u can then hide ur faith and beliefs. If u r an atheist in Iran and u r held a gun in ur head and the Mullas ask u whether u r a Kaafir - what will u do? Must u not hide ur beliefs? That's Taqiyaa. But if u r referring to proselytization - that is the evil work of Christian missionaries in poor countries. Tell that to Evangelican jet set priests who talk about God with miliion pounds in accounts. I rather have doubt whether u r an agnostic or really a zealous negative atheists with hate in heart. Skepticism breeds hate. I will not accept bullying.

So whats the deal? Was he pretending to be an atheist?

Yeah. I kinda felt this was what's going on from his videos, I mean an atheist IMMEDIATELY after being a Muslim apologetic for just a few days, but I decided to have 'faith' probably.

I have no idea. But if he was, why would a Muslim pretend to be an atheist on youtube? It just doesn't make any sense.

So he has a point to prove which I don't know what exactly. Maybe that in-group support exists even among atheists? Or maybe that's too obvious to need proving?

    1.  He's having a laugh, flexing his egocentricity
    2.  He has converted back to Islam - I doubt it though, because the first thing you would do is explain why, aprt from spending mins repeating the words "let it be known"
    3.  He's being blackmailed in Bangladesh (its not wise putting your face on youtube as an ex-muslim in a muslim country for precisely this reason)

Any other likely possibilities?  Ive just pm'd him to see if its true anyway..

Seems like he's a nutcase, seeking attention. Probably never an atheist. He says he only got hate messages from atheists, none from Muslims. Yeah right.

Knowing Islam is the only true religion we do not allow propagation of any other religion. How can we allow building of churches and temples when their religion is wrong? Thus we will not allow such wrong things in our countries. - Zakir Naik
