Managed like 30% of it to be honest, and that too only with my own family some close members of my extended family - much to their surprise, denial, shock, concern, anger, sadness, arrogance (you name it) etc etc, They are tolerating it as merely a 'phase' in my life.

But I am very tight lipped about it for the rest of the people here - I dont really have much friends where I live to be honest. One fellow I am friendly with is a typical show-off party-lover pseudo-religious fellow. But I prefer if he yaps about girls, partying, and telling me duas to recite whilst jogging... its better than hate.

That said, I understand taraC's concerns given she is a girl in a religious family. No telling what her parents/siblings will do if they hear it. Better to avoid.
