So there will be no animals in heaven?  That sucks.  Another good reason to give the whole God thing a miss.

I don't mind mosquitoes not being in heaven - those little bastards don't deserve heaven. I wouldn't even want those in torment in hell to have to put up with mosquitoes either, the little bastards.

And the Qur'an is not?  Roll Eyes

EDIT: And also Dawkins would not be able to say "Do you believe in unicorns?" when confronted with the question "Why don't you believe in God?" by a Muslim.

I read a christian apologist that meant it's a land animal, that it's really an ox with a horn, or something like that. But then, I ask, where did the myth and art of unicorns come from? Me thinks apologist is embarrassed the Unicorn in the Bible is an actual Unicorn. *wags fingers* naughty apologist always confusing people.

Didn't Mo ascend to heaven on the back of a unicorn? Oh no, that was a donkey. I can't watch the Shrek movies without thinking of Mohammad riding on the back of donkey as he reaches for Jannah Grin

Maybe he got it from Aisha? She had a winged horse for a doll. (I think I either read that in a hadith or heard it from somebody).

Did he go travel Buraaq Air before or after Aisha?

Maybe. But his Burak is super-duper-fast. I mean a step covers the distance equal to the range of vision, that's something impressive.

The Buraq story always made me laugh as a kid. But it sure made for some cool art:

Flying donkeys! Why don't they put that shit in their dawah materials? Shit is crazy man!

    I'll repeat that......

    FLYING MOTHERFUCKING DONKEYS!!!

This shit steams over Hare Krishnas with their monkey gods man!

Islam has the best animals - hands down it wrestles all other falsehoods to the ground.

I read somewhere (Hadith?) that it was supposed to travel as fast as sound. Which is not that impressive really, the fastest jet can reach Mach 3.5 which is 3.5 times as fast as Buraq.
Speed of light or instant teleportation would be a much more impressive feat for God's Stallion.

Unless you ask Zia Sardar who would tell you that the story of the journey to the Seventh Heaven is really purely a metaphor for Muhammad's spiritual journey.

This is an example of medieval Islamic art (circa 14th century?) if I am not mistaken. Anybody else finds it funny that such art (depicting Muhammad) did exist in the past and apparently nobody got excited, protested and killed because of it?

Yes, its a medieval miniature. There are tonnes of them depicting Mo's face and everything. Nobody got killed because Muslims back then were actually kind of cool.

Akhi muslims are still cool. Just last week my wife, while dressed in her niqab, gave me a strip tease. Didn't last long though, seeing how it's one dress and she was naked under it but hey, at least it was halal.
