Congratulations Infidel! You win my monthly proofreading prize, which I give out once a month, to test members of CEMB, in which I make deliberate spelling errors in my post, in order to make sure that everyone lives in fear and always pay attention to the details of what I say.

Your prize is a pigs head.

(Returns to thread - spoilsport!)  Excuse me in bollocones magna!  Astrology??  I still have problems with the word 'believe'. And I was 2 months premature. Thought you'd like to know that just in case it doesn't have any bearing on my personality either.

I did a google search for 'pisces male profile' and damn... it described me so accurately!
    http://www.iloveindia.com/astrology/sun-signs/pisces/man.html

Although it had some stuff which was incorrect about me such as Pisces men being shy, which I'm not.

Everyone else, please do a google search for '[your star] male/female profile' and post here on whether it describes you correctly or not!

What would it say about you if you looked under libra male? or taurus male??

I was just reading a book titled Debunked! and incidentally the first pages in the first chapter talk about astrology  Roll Eyes. I retrieved the first 6 pages from Amazon's "Look Inside" feature and stuck them in a .doc file which I attached. I hope you read it liberated  Wink. You don't even need to read all the 6 pages to get the gist of it.

Dude make sure your name isn't in the info of that document. There was a problem with that where somebody posted a word doc on CEMB and his name was in the document itself. There is a sticky on the subject,

There was an option of 'Create a copy without personal details' when I was saving, so I guess it should have worked. Can you download it and verify for me?

And thanks for the offer, I heard parrots has a similar taste to chicken, so I wouldn't mind that. I would probably make a parrot biryani, yummy.   Afro

I think it was on one of Richard Dawkin's documentaries that people were given different horoscopes than their own and they were almost all saying how accurate it was.

It's kind of like when someone makes up a story for a Guru who charges a fortune and the Guru, who is supposed to be talking to your dead relatives or whatever, talks as if your story were true.  But so many people find it convincing!

Maybe someone will find this interesting Smiley

Have you ever come across anybody making intercession to the Prophet?

Plenty of times.  I can't remember hearing people do it but I've been to Medina where people supplicate in front of his grave.  I've seen plenty of mosques in graveyards.  Seen some graves in mosques, and people praying toward them (Sunnis, I think they were, in Damascus).

    lol

When I was new to Islam I went to a Shia mosque in Lebanon where the Imam would do this very emotional chant like account of Hussains death, or whatever, after prayer sometimes and everyone would cry.  They would prostrate their foreheads on little stones.  After prayer they would face somewhere else and chant stuff.  The lucky buggers only had to pray three times a day though!!!!!!!!!!

lol no its still 5 prayers, but set at 3 times a day, and you can split it apart to 5 but nobody does that, and besides its not like the sunni metod of specific times, but a few minutes apart when you can spend time reading quran etc, most people dont do this though

yeah the stone, i dont know the justification for that, i think i was told its because the prophet prayed on sand or something

I don't think there is any justification but I'm not saying I think Islamic monotheism is any more reasonable Smiley

Yeah I asked my mom about that once, she told me it's Khaake Shifa ("Healing Sand") which is directly off the land of Karbala or some such and has magical healing powers http://www.duas.org/kshifa.htm  13

IS THERE ANY FUCKING REASON IN RELIGION? My explanation was at least rational. Somewhat.

Allat don't you love the part where if you don't have a turbe, you can use a piece of paper or tissue (make sure nothing is written on it). Apparently the paper is like the material we were made of, ie like sand (dust/mud in the quran). You know what that makes even less sense.

And if not, then you can pray on your fingers. Never asked why, not because I didn't think of it, just because it's not right to ask questions lol
