This may sound stupid, but I will still go ahead and ask.

I'm wondering whether the likes of Richard Dawkins and other prominent Atheists, who refute and criticize Religions, are under any form of government protection? Considering there are people out there that would like them silenced.

No, I dont think they need it.  They are ok for now, provided they stick to all the religions other than Islam.

Good point. But I don't know what views the extremist hold of them. I mean, people like Richard Dawkins have done a lot more damage to Islam than for instance, the person who drew the Cartoons did, and yet people were shouting for him to be attacked and killed. I find it strange I haven't heard anyone saying Dawkins must be silenced, even though his works among other Atheists is causing a lot of Muslims to lose faith.

The issue is not making people lose faith in God that gets fanatics into a twist, it is mocking Islam or the prophet.

True. But the stuff Dawkins or Harris say goes waaay over the heads of the mindless little islamists apes. They can barely understand cartoons and the irony of demanding the deaths of people for portaying Islam as violent... so not surprising they totally miss the boat on the whole New Atheism thing.

Iblis has mad debaterin' skillz. Best not step up unless you're prepared to recieve da pain.
