I thought it was funny at the end where he scrolls down to highlight a comment you made but thinks I made it.
Haha, yeah. I intended to reply to that part, but I didn't bother.
Something about that guy freaks me out. I think it's an edge in his voice that sounds a bit unhinged. Especially since I was actually very fair in that video and he accuses me of not saying things I did say - it's all very weird!
Yes, very weird. He thinks you said that beating your wife is always allowed, but you never say such a thing. Your whole video explains how scholars interpret this verse and what steps a husband has to take before he can chastise his wife. It seems like his video attacks a straw man and tries to make you look like somebody who wants to spread lies and propaganda about Islam and who doesn't understand a thing about Islam or this verse in particular.
He likes to think that his definition of nushooz is the only correct one.
The problem is that anybody can define --according to their own whims and desires-- what a rebellious wife is and how much force you may apply when hitting her. The verse itself doesn't go into any of these special details that supposedly make wife beating reasonable. Allah wasn't smart or kind enough to include them in his stupid book.
