My only real advice would be have a plan B. Be ready to improvise. You never know, the room might not be in the mood for the set you prepared. Always play for the room. Don't play for yourself.

It's not a house crowd; it's a regular party and they liked the idea of a house event night with a guest DJ. Definitely gonna have a plan (A and B), but I'm trying to find tracks that I think the crowd would enjoy. I'm only gonna play for myself insofar as to ensure I'm gonna have a lot of fun spinning.
