    Ok picking after the "incest" thread, this obviously comes to mind. What you guys say bout cheating? Sleeping around while you are still in a relationship with another person?

    I would like to specifically hear from the people who are not opposing incest and think that it is OK!

    lol Ribs, why would they be for this? And I'm not defending anybody, but I would suppose a majority of the people here, both those arguing for and against incestuous relationships would be against cheating. Consenting to open marriage/relationship means cheating would signify something else, something outside those rules you have come to agree with. Cheating means lying on the very least, or being dishonest and hiding the truth, which is lying implicitly.   

    The only argument for cheating is the ?they will never find out, therefore can?t be hurt by it?. I think that?s a weak and a cowardly argument. I think most here would agree with that.

    i think theres a reason why its called cheating- the negative connotation is there because its a dishonest act.

    open relationships are another matter entirely. But i dont think thats what you meant, right?

    But, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand you are making this kind of argument:

    Incest is immoral.
    People who don't believe incest is immoral are generally immoral.   <-
    People who are generally immoral are more likely to accept other forms of immoral behaviour.
    Cheating is immoral.
    Therefore, People who accept incest are more likely to accept cheating.

    But I have put an arrow on the incorrect premise. As a person who does not accept that incest is immoral, I accept that it is not immoral. I did this after thinking long and hard about the consistency of my moral beliefs. That actually makes me very concerned about morality. But you think it makes me generally immoral. Why?

    Anyway, I have made a suggestion as to how I think the law should be changed in the incest thread. Berbs agrees with it, which shows the discussion is getting somewhere. If you don't, please go onto that thread and say why. I don't want to prove Q-Man right that the topic of incest is hi-jacking every thread.

    That's just what I'm like. If I find something wrong I have to correct it. I'd make a rubbish PM; I'd want to change so many things to make everything perfect. I'd give even the only-slightly corrupt politicians a massive headache.
