    ... Why the heck would you speed up the process by talking about it?

    Seriously, if the planet will eventually be destroyed by humans in an apocalyptic war, then its pointless to deliver this as a prophecy because if the planet is destroyed, you'd be dead anyway. So what's the point of not holding an optimistic viewpoint that things will work out at least in your life time?

    I know some people will say that by talking about it you might bring attention to important problems and I have no problem with 'If we don't stop doing this, one day we'd be destroyed' kind of talk, but its those people who say with this certainty that 'humanity will eventually die out' or 'planet will eventually be destroyed' that piss me off. Even if it will, you talking about it will not help, so try being a little positive at least in your short lifetime.

    I don't think we'd be able to destroy the planet as such. We might destroy life on it, but earth will go on. Eventually life may reappear again  grin12

    I don't think humans can even destroy themselves on this planet. Assuming that we can, seems too arrogant to me. We seem to think that we are greatly significant, but I think otherwise. We haven't been able to destroy mosquitoes, cockroaches or rodents even after our best efforts so far.

    Islam is a funny religion which is misunderstood by its scholars and correctly understood by ordinary Muslims.
    Faith is keeping your eyes shut when looking at the world, and/or keeping your eyes open only for the beauty of the world.

    I dont care if even if we do (as long as its after I'm dead lol). 

    We're inconsequential to the universe, and there will come a time when the sun runs out of energy anyway..

    By the time the sun runs out of energy we will be a type 1 or type 2 civilization and it won't matter to us.

    Well sun will run out of energy and swallow this planet in about 5 billion years time, by then humans will be gone. Iran are getting a bomb though so it will be interesting to see how that develops. North Korea have got nuclear capabilities so who knows, maybe we will all get vaporised sooner than we think.
