OK to be clear I am not sure what the Sunni scholars say about that, the virgin silence.

Will do, but a quick look as well:

    It's a very innocent Hadith...

    Quote

Wow! That's a very small book, compared to Bukhari/Muslim... it's like 1/6 the size of Bukhari's book.  Huh?

i think you have spent to much time on ffi to be honest, i think either you are black and white in terms of thinking "the filthy dirty west" or ffi has created this mindset OR influenced it, where it was maybe a little "west is bad" has now turned into 99% of westerns can't wipe their ass and rimming is a popular past-time.

Yeah I know I don't think it's the entire thing though. The sunnis have worked better at bringing material online.

There is also Najul Al Balaga. I think hadiths are taken from here as well:

There is one hadith that disturbed when I was a muslim. It was one of them Imams, he had a prayer to protect him from owls and animals of the forest, and also said like strange mythical creatures. I'm not sure if it's poorly translated or even accurate but I felt uneasy reading it. So superstitious.

There are also hadiths repeated by the Imams about embryology. Really poor science. One of the Imams was rehashing the hadiths from the Sunni collection and the Quranic verses, about how to know where the boy got his looks from or where the girl got it from and so on.

    I mean check this:

    Quote
    343. 1. Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (p) was requested to comment on the verse: O Believers! Fear God and be with those who are truthful. (Q, 9:119)
The Imam (p) explained: We (the Infallible Imams) are the truthful ones.

    344. 5. Prophet Muhammad (p): Anyone who wants to live like me and die like me, and desires to enter the gardens of everlasting bliss created by God with His own hands, should remain loyal to Imam Ali (p) and be a friend to his friends, an enemy to his enemy, and also remain loyal to his successors because they are my progeny, my flesh and blood and God has bestowed on them my wisdom and knowledge. To God I will complain against those of my followers who deny their excellence and reject their affinity to me. I swear by God, they will kill my son (Imam al-Husayn (p)) and I shall not be an intercessor for them.

    http://al-kafi.org/bok%204.htm

Tell me what the problem here is Debunker. How do you think I should interpret this?

btw Shia Islam is adamant on the infallibility of the Imams, the Prophet and Fatima. They can not do any mistakes, not in actions and not in words and not in thoughts. Yet they are humans? God has protected them from mistakes but not us. And they have the power of intercession. If God wants to put me to hell, they can discuss it with him and say have mercy on him. And then God changes his mind?

What are your thoughts in this form of intercession?
  • Re: Why Women, are a symbol of Sin in Islam ?
     Reply #69 - February 21, 2010, 03:47 PM

    @ BD

The Shia Hadith above is simply an order from the prophet, which if disobeyed Paradise is lost. This Hadith says whoever doesn't believe in Ali's right to rulership does not go to Paradise, which is too much I must say.

As for intercession, Muhammed, the prophets AND angels are given the honor of intercession in the hereafter, HOWEVER we CANNOT pray for their intercession.

For example, you can ask your father to pray for you but when he dies, he becomes part of the unseen and asking anyone who is part of the unseen (your father, a prophet, Mary, the Saints or angels) amounts to a supplication, a prayer, albeit a prayer for an intercession and this is, of course, shirk.

As for the infallibility of prophets, I have discussed this in a Shia forum... according to Quran, the prophets ARE fallible --> Ali CANNOT be infallible.

    BTW,

another Sunni Hadith used by anti-Islam sites as another evidence for allowing the marriage of little girls is the Hadith where the prophet said to one of his companions that he should have married a virgin so that they could play with each other...

First off "play" is not the accurate translation, but anyway, the meaning of that Hadith according to Orthodox Sunnis is that a virgin wife is more joyful, if you will, with her husband, and it's easier for a virgin to become attached to her husband than a it is for a previously married woman.

    Quote

     http://audio.islamweb.net/audio/index.php?page=FullContent&audioid=178441

Yet this Hadith along with the other one (silence of a virgin is acceptance) are routinely used by anti-Islam sites as two more occasions where marrying off little girls is advocated when this has nothing to do with the meaning of the Hadith.

If tissue paper  is available, tissue and water. But if tissue is not available only water. I don't see any problem in using water and then cleaning your hand with soap. Better than just using tissue and being filthy all day. Its your own ass. Its not that I am doing rimming which is quite popular practice in west, if you know what rimming is.

I think someone needs a good rimming...

And what about verse 65:4? Not sure if any one else brought it up yet but that verse allows marriage to young girls of any age, including before puberty. The verse discusses divorce and waiting periods, and waiting periods only apply when a marriage has been consummated.

I don't know who told you all  that, or you just made it up. What you wrote about paper been sacred and all that is not true, its all about cleanliness and we don't feel just tissue make you clean. But if I stick around I will try to educate you more about some misconceptions.

Dude, all I can gauge from your response is that you probably haven’t understood a thing as far as my post is concerned.

Let’s try one thing at a time.

What is your opinion regarding my statement that in Islam possibility and actuality are often fused?

Today seems to a "grudge against the moderator of COEM" for me.

Isn't it unfair to give the credit to iffo for starting this shitty thread? Iffo didn't start this discussion as far as I can determine.

Debunker has been requesting us to be nice to iffo as he is from FFI. Is this the way we accede to his request?

But whoever thinks that one is taking a piss when one is being half or full serious is not an idiot; he is right in his assumption.

I haven't seen anyone taking a piss in jest or in response to some joke. Pissing IS a serious business.

But who said that one can't laugh about a serious business?
