    7. When you lurk in bushes and doorways with criminal intentions, always wear bright clothing, wave a flashlight, or play “Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed)” by the Raveonettes on a boombox really loud, so women in the vicinity will know where to aim their flamethrowers.

    8. USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM! If it is inconvenient for you to stop yourself from assaulting women, ask a trusted friend to accompany you when in public.

    9. Carry a rape whistle. If you find that you are about to assault a woman, you can hand the whistle to your buddy, so s/he can blow it to call for help.

    10. Give your buddy a revolver, so that when indifferent passers-by either ignore the rape whistle, or gather round to enjoy the spectacle, s/he can pistol-whip you.

    Don’t forget: Honesty is the best policy. When asking a woman out on a date, don’t pretend that you are interested in her as a person; tell her straight up that you expect to be assaulting her later. If you don’t communicate your intentions, the woman may take it as a sign that you do not plan to rape her.

    1 - If you see a strand of hair, don't assault her, get a friend to hold you back if you can't restrain yourself.

    2 - If you hear a womans voice speaking nearby, don't assault her

    I think that this issue should be addressed through education.  We should teach people to see it as 'unplanned sexual intercourse' or 'surpise sex' to use a more catchy phrase, rather than 'rape' which is quite negative as a term.

    As to the OP.

    I don't want to talk about rape/sexual violence (perhaps yet)because I will get accused off being creepy, spend too much time in the gender and sexuality section and if my train of thought is kept for any length of time (new destinations maybe reached). Trigger warnings galore. And I don't want to be on that train of thought. I already have Allat's ire to contend with.

    I feel that even though I am on intellectually safe ground, it will be construed as something else.

    FYI I had the response to the OP, can't remember if it was a parody or a analogy to skin colour, like I said not sure - but it has been posted and tested in my other place of record, well not record really, because it is a small forum which prunes any topic not having a reply in three months (not even archived), and I can't remember, it is a forgottery, it will come back, it usually does.

    The only reason why I have a response to the OP, is because in my early days here, it was presented to me and I had no answer.

    I didn't realise I resurrected threads specifically along those lines. Though you do seem to imply I get off on sex and violence when obviously my post saying I agree with the tips is anything but. Consider it my way of highlighting victim blaming, which does happen and needs to be called out. Hence saying I agree with the tips.

    Just to entertain it for a bit - It depend if you think rape is all about power and not sex, or a mixture of the two. Of course it makes no difference, it is still rape. if it about power, you can't do nowt much, if it is about sex, maybe you can.

    People say it's about power not sex, though I'd be surprised if sex was never also a part of it. I'm fully aware I can't stop rape, but highlighting victim blaming is important in my eyes.

    So my daughter, who might get into university, I don't have to talk to her about personal responsibility and safety. I think the OP printed on billboards will be sufficient, yes the scum will read it and think yes - I am packing in my wants/needs.

    Her birthday is on St Patricks day, imagine being a uni, or later on, it is St Patrick's day and your birthday, lol the devil drink at hand. I'd explain to her that drink for drink she is going to get drunk quicker and lose her inhibition quicker. Rohypnol is a myth, most girls are just drunk.

    I had to curtail my Friday five-a-side for over forties followed by food and special fags and some funk - by an hour when I saw this. Berbs comment on its own would not have done it.

    Now lets look at my comment 'rohypnol is a myth' - it is non-sensical, obviously I meant something else, lol magically thinking those three words will explain my drift, obviously not. last night must have typed a, I don't know, over a thousand words on different topics, I made a rash post, left it too bare, for others to picks on, missed leaving the substance, so to speak. Scuse the mis-step.

    What I meant.

    It is a myth that rohypnol use is as widespread as perhaps thought. My two best friends are laywers, spoke to one of them tonight, asked him how many rape cases he has been involved in, he said - including those that require a visit to the police station but charges might not be brought - he said 20. How many involve alcohol? Virtually all of them. How many involve Rohypnol - None. On it's own it as good as Berbs anecdote. he said possibly that Rohypnol was a city type thing. But he had never come across it in twenty years and twenty cases.

    In addition, the last time I was on this train of though, I checked the research behind rohypnol/alcohol and rape. What I found was an over-representation of women who thought they had been administered rohypnol but when checked it was alcohol. Now that was two years ago - but the general impression was that many victims had drunk themselves into stupor. This does not discount the use of rohypnol as a date rape drug, but the real date-rape drug is alcohol. two thirds of all rapes in the UK involve alcohol. My advice to my daughter still stands.
