Women have it even worse as their bodies in and of themselves are considered even more valuable than the skills or knowledge they possess in our society. They are vessels for sex and children and are quickly disposed of when a man feels a woman has gone beyond her utility to him-- at least that's what I do.

Yeah, those aren't even my most ridiculous posts. Unfortunately most of those have either been trashed or are in parts of the board I can't access.

But here's what I wrote on my Intro thread (now trashed):

    Quote
KDF stands for "Kope Defense Force" It was founded in Hyderabad, India in 1995 to defend Muslim theologian and poet kope from violent attacks both by Hindus and by Muslims who regarded him as a heretic. Although the KDF started off as an armed defense organization, we unilaterally disarmed in 1998, after we were able to get kope reconstructive facial surgery then place him in hiding in another country and provide a series of safe-houses and escape routes for him, in case his true identity and location are ever revealed. Since then the two goals of the KDF have been to provide proxy routing to conceal kope's true IP and to provide apologetics assistance on various forums where he posts his absurdist poetry, genius wit, visionary theology, and revolutionary eschatology, all of which are often hatefully criticized by the intolerant, the myopic, and the cultural philistines.

    .. I say fuck 'em.

The only reason why you are bitter regarding RD.net is because you only got to hang out with the “special” kids in the R(etarded) section of the forum.
NineBerry and I on the other hand were hanging out with cool kids in the posh section contemplating Life, Universe and Everything.
Oh the fond memories I have. Here is a photo of NineBerry and myself typing a response to a post on a topic of post structural feminism:

It is coming back - like the rebirth of Jesus..

Dawkins is an intelligent man so I want to at least keep an open mind, and am interested to see what it will be like..

An open mind about what?  Dawkins himself has said its being scrapped and replaced with a site where people can post articles for discussion only with prior mod approval.

Your right, it doesnt sound good when you put it like that - without knowing the exact structure, I am hoping he has some grand ideas ahead of him.

Why else would he have done it?  I am sure he believes mindless/mind-filled chatter about atheism is better than none at all, so I would prefer to withhold judgement for a few more weeks before I see what he has exactly replaced it with and where he is headed with it..  I suspect he wants to leverage the membership for something more productive & fruitful.  What I dont understand is why he didnt have both things running side by side so they could leverage of each other  Huh?

Anyhow I will wait & see..

This is just shows non-believers and skeptics can have the same type of emotional faith. Dawkins scraped it, we don't really know why. He hasn't said. He obviously didn't like the forum and went with what his employee thought. It's that simple, those are the facts that we have. Everything else is inference. He might think it will be better but to say he has grand ideas, we don't know that. And if he thinks its going to be better, doesn't mean shit to all the people that disagree.

He might have done it for personal reasons, because of the trolling and so on. Deciding that it might bring atheism or him into bad light. This is also inference.

Dawkins could be an asshole for all we know. But we don't know. And neither does it matter.

My only problem with this whole thing is that rules were do not recruit other members to other forums. Bollocks I say. And sweaty ones.

I guess Dawkins doesn't care much about the forums because user generated content is dangerous to handle, especially when your full name is associated to it in the URL.

The ex rd.net forum admins should just register a new domain to run their own atheist forum, then kindly ask the rd.net people to set up a simple redirect from forum.richarddawkins.net to the new one.

That way they can keep a lot of the previous userbase to jump start the new instance of the old community.

Yupp agreed. There were great posters and its a damn shame all that knowledge is going to waste. They will delete all of it in a month, I really wish they would move it or something instead.

    lol

dude you are awesome, why don't you post more? where do you post most? is this the only forum?

    Lolz thx!

I don't post much lately. I've roamed a lot of different forums about various topics:
MMORPGs (mainly: some Ultima Online free shards, Anarchy Online, Age of Conan, EVE Online, etcetera...)
    Fitness websites
    Picture rating sites
Totally random forums like... one about rhythmic gymnastics (it was cool cause 99.9% of the users were cute young flexible girls ^_^)

Currently, the only other forum I post in, besides this, is: http://www.ratemybody.com/forum/
But it requires a low degree of seriousness.
