    Unbelievable! They killed what probably was the best forum on the face of the Earth. Josh Timonen must be one of the most hated individuals on the planet atm. Retard!

    Eh, fuck the RD forum staff. They banned me (which I didn't have a problem with), but obviously left my information on their site so that when their damn site was hacked I got malicious e-mails. I contacted them numerous to request they delete my info from their site so this wouldn't happen again, and never got any response from any of the admin.

    So fuck them and their whiney "This is so unfair!" asses. I hope they all get viruses that completely crash their machines and become the victims of identity theft. Fuckers.

    OK. But this is not about the RD forum staff - it's much wider than that. RD forum was a great place, a great community of people where interesting and knowledgeable individuals posted and where relevant questions were being asked.

    In any case, the article linked is mostly about how unfairly the admin/mods were treated and I say fuck 'em.

    I barely visited the forum, and I don't recall making an account in it, but I'd say I would feel outraged had I been a dedicated member/mod/admin. I can imagine myself getting really pissed if this forum was to be subject to such treatment by, say, someone appointed by Maryam Namazie.

    Wouldn't happen here - this forum is not controlled by anyone apart from the admin/mods.

    RD.net is not run directly by RD himself, he does have the final word in everything but he left it to be run pretty much by a guy named Josh Timonen. However Josh is not directly involved in the forums, but the forums are being run by admins/mods who do not get paid for it (much like any forum really). Now that that has been established here it goes:

    1. The forum was starting to have technical problems.
    2. The admins/mods emailed Josh that there are problems.
    3. He did not really bother and just payed lip service.
    4. They still emailed him.
    5. He responded that there will be a change in the forum software and will allow admins/mods to participate and finalise this decision.
    6. He kept silent about it and ended up writing an announcement in the staff that he did everything himself and the forum is not going to be a "real" forum, but some sort of thing like comments system but in a kinda advanced way. Also that the admins/mods are no longer needed. And finally asked them to not make a fuss about it or challenge his decision or try and do anything funny. He said he will leave the forums open for a further 30 days for anybody to backup their posts or stuff like that.
    7. The people there got really pissed and started posting about how they are against the new change.
    8. Josh got pissed, and deleted all the posts that criticised his decision and closed the forum before the 30-day wait. In addition he deleted some members' profiles including mods and admins, which means ALL their posts are gone.
    9. The forum died.
    10. Members/admins/mods are bitching about it in their blogs.
    11. Dawkins wrote on the website that he is in favor of the new change, and basically to shut up.
    12. The End.

    I guess Richard Dawkins is just going along with whatever that Josh tool was suggesting. Still a pretty terrible thing to do to such a popular forum.

    They want to throw out the old couches and armchairs in the corner and replace them with a nice clean steal table and steal stools. Because this way, it is much cleaner and more representative.

    Also, they want us to get rid of the heaps of magazins and news paper lying all over the floor and instead have a steal shelve with a copy of the Ecyclopedia Britannica on it.

    They want to remove the posters of pop stars, artists and funny cats everyone put on the walls at sixes and sevens and instead have all the walls painted in a clean and nice bright cyan colour. Because that's more representative and the posters only distract from work.

    Also, the dart board and the tabletop soccer in the other corner will be replaced with a bicycle exercise machine. That's cleaner and healthier and distracts less from work.

    In short: They have great ideas to improve the environment to make the people in the environment more productive and representative.

    They should know: People work better and are more productive when they feel comfortable, not when everything is clean and streamlined...
