Well you failed the test then  Tongue It was never meant to be easy.

I have been told that many times before. I remember during my hardest moments as a convert, all of the devout brothers were telling me Islam is such an easy religion and its not difficult. In my mind I was saying "I never had this many hardships, stress and difficulty in my life" My family life was slowly collapsing, I was becoming more extreme, I started hanging out with overly religious dickheads and I refused to read about science and philosophy. I was becoming a wreck, yet its all "easy" bullshit

Hey CC, great story! I can identify with some of it, like the part about the Arabic names. That is such a big deal to them, for some reason. I never changed my name but many people told me I should, and my friends gave me an Arabic nickname against my will. And it's always just assumed that you will WANT to name your future children with Arabic names. They say Islam is a religion for all people and all times, yet they expect you to adopt their culture and speak their language. More hypocrisy Roll Eyes

And yeah, I heard the same thing about Islam being easy, and it is easy until it's not. And when it's not easy and you are having doubts, everyone will just tell you you need to be strong and have faith, and pray more and read Qur'an more. Like that ever helped anyone.

    Very interesting.

I didn't legally change my name thank God lol. I learned some Arabic. My "brothers" don't know I am an apostate so they still force and pressure me to learn Arabic.

Cool Canadian, in the last decade, after Poland became part of the European Union, England became a very Polish country. There were up to a million Poles living in the UK until recently, I think some reverse migration happened, but Poles became ubiquitous in British towns and cities - on buses, in shops, you hear Polish voices often. Very hard working, and they open up Polish delis everywhere they go too  Afro

(Polish ladies are nice as well, British guys love them!)

Did you choose that name, or did they choose it for you? I never wanted an Arabic name, not even a nickname, but I had one forced on me anyway.

Good to hear Billy! But I heard many British people don't like them because they are taking their jobs or something. Well Poland is kinda crappy in some aspects, so they wanna make money and come back home with lots of dough Tongue

But good to hear you don't have a problem Smiley

    Naaa, I chose it  Cheesy

They actually told me to think about it carefully, which was good. No Muslims came up to me saying pick Muhammad pick Muhammad!

Yeah there were some people who grumbled about them 'taking' jobs but trust me, the Polish people were doing many jobs that the locals didn't want to do - plus they work damn hard. Besides, membership of the EU means British people live and work in the hundreds of thousands in places like Spain and Portugal, the whole point of the EU is freedom of movement for members.

I personally like the Polish injection into Britain  Afro

lol, you think so? I think Saudi Adans are very bland and irritating but some adans are amazing.

I remember seeing a program, I think it was on the BBC (obviously some years ago!) about the tradition of adhan calling in Cairo and how with the Wahhabi inroads into the country the traditional melodic adhans were becoming more bland and louder and it was pissing alot of the locals off!

My journey was awkward I got to admit. Are you from a Catholic background, and did your parents flip at you when converting? Just curious, because mine did!

Dad's a lapsed Catholic, Mom's a lapsed Jew.  I was raised neither but with a nod to my mother's Jewish upbringing.  Mom flipped out when I converted for obvious reasons.  Dad was like; 'That's my crazy daughter for you!'

Mine is either gone or it became unnoticeable by my brain ^_^

Some years ago I suddenly woke up with no hearing from the right side.
After a couple days I could hear again, except there was that annoying beep.
It lasted a couple months and it faded down slowly. I suspect it's still there, but so faint that the environment noise of the city covers it, even at night.

As a side note, last summer I got an ear problem even worse than tinnitus: dizziness. THAT got me even more depressed than tinnitus. It lasted a couple weeks and it was awful

I'm very sorry to hear that Tlaloc. I had a on and off beeping noise in my left ear, but for the past couple of months I can't hear it anymore which is good.

    Great story CC.

Finally got around to reading it.

I don't want to be a dick... but you should really indent and space out your writing. I simply refused to read this initially because you used single massive paragraphs with no spacing!!

Sorry I did not mean indent. I meant just hit "enter" once in a while! Enormous blocks of texts really fuck with my mind.  wacko
