    It should be restricted to certain designated areas, same with other forms of dress codes and costumes.

    This is where opposing individual rights occur then again businesses have the right to refuse to serve you and good for them and similarly if parents are scandalized they can buy property and refuse you access. Once again, within their rights.

    No seriously, why should I for one have to go outside the street and see the fat old woman who lives nearby in the buff?  She might not be hurting me, but I find it quite stomach turning..  Why should I have to put up with it?  What is wrong in limiting those things to designated areas?

    Meredith I know you mean well,I appreciate your point. But you are seeing this in terms of black and white missing the various shades of greys involved,that's why we need some kind of state intervention[preferably very mild,to see that things don't get ugly]

    Non sequitur.  I am talking about lack of clothes not excess.  How and to what extent you choose to cover yourself is another subject.  Although now that you mentioned it, I definitely would not have minded that scenario either.

    This law is discriminatory. Plain and simple.
    France already is on tense terms with its Muslim community with accusations of biased and unfair targeting
    What has now happened is people have basically taken a sector of the populace that is already feeling outside of the mainstream and made rules specifically aimed at their exercise of religion.

    I hope you support Muslim countries limiting other groups freedom of expression. If you do support it, at least you get points for consistency.

    Why are you discriminating against 'lack of clothes'?
    It's my right to be naked! If the state deems it's not  allowed then it's infringing on my rights to choose my mode of dressing, in this case: no dress at all. If at all  restrictions on what you can wear is location specific then it's only fair that all choices are affected . Moreover who decides on the restrictions?
