which will no doubt lead to them falling more in line within their own community and refusing to integrate into mainstream

this is the first time i've agree with you. But really, isn't the problem that this already happening now?

Well I don't care who does what, where and when as long as it doesn't encroach on ME.   As long as nobody tries to force their views and cultures on me I'm not really bothered what anyone else gets up to.

Wrong or right that's how I feel.

That's how I feel too, welcome by the way..

And you think targeting Muslims in a law where infact out of 5 million people only about 2,000 Muslim women wear the niqab is justified?

This will lead to a rise of isolation and no one should be blamed but France's Government. The Moderates just got weakened.
If anything France's Muslim population is more integrated than UK's (or rather used to be more integrated, I doubt they are anymore)

Have you heard of French Muslims born and bred blowing up a train in France? No? Then France should hush.

There are estimated to be only about 2,000 women wearing the full veil in France, with most of these in the niqab rather than the burka, although the bill is opposed by many of France's five million Muslims.

so your source doesn't provide a source. way to check the facts. On one side you vilify the government for letting it get to this stage and then criticise it when it provides a solution.

that's your barometer of successful integration if it's own citizens don't blow up a train?

    You're talking nonsense. absolute drivel.

EDIT: that bbc site did provide one useful thing, a visual (cartoon!) representation of Muslim head dress, so i can definitely say Ban the Burka

I vilify any Government who walks all over Freedom of expression and yet you provide no source that contradicts it. I can bring you a thousand which estimates the same.  Google it billy

Oh good god, it is like talking to a brick wall.
That is not my barometer but the mere fact that French Muslim population has such a larger population than the British one but has not got homegrown terrorism demonstrates it is more integrate.
Would you like me to explain more S-L-O-W-L-Y.

Its like the gun debate all over again.

Do you support Muslim countries cutting off the freedom of expression of Non Muslims? Simple Yes or No question but it'll sure tell me alot by your answer

I estimate it to be about 20,000 women, if i get a couple of bloggers to post this around does that then become offical? empirical evidence and stastics are not based on the wisdom of the crowds or peoples artibiatry estimates which have propogated through the internet. I undertand though. you base your facts on hearsay and take that as gospel. thats fine but dont present them to me as evidence.

Do you honestly beilve that there are no homegrown french terrorist cells or suspects?
I guess this guardian report http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2004/jan/12/alqaida.france doesnt fit in with your world view. thats fine feel free to ignore it

Do you support Muslim countries cutting off the freedom of expression of Non Muslims? They do already.

BRITAIN IS NOT A MUSLIM COUNTRY.

Lack of integration does not solely manifest itself as terrorism, terrorism is simply one of the worst consequences...

So that is a Yes, you do support Muslim countries limiting Non Muslims freedoms then.

    Well then good
At least you are consistent in wanting to restrict freedoms for everyone rather than one group Afro

Hey, I have the greatest of fondness for those who have no respect for freedoms and fascists and authoritarians who like singling out religious groups.

Without people like you those of us who oppose your ideology would never be able to value hard won freedoms and hold it as important and precious as it is.

Those who would sacrifice freedom for temporary security deserve neither

But hey, don't worry. I'll remember your position on limiting Muslim women rights in the West the next time you whine about rights in the Muslim world.
